Hey Folks,

I'm running a Cel566 at 877MHz on a BH6v1.01 in Turbo Mode. Very stable. Can't do 112MHz FSB very long, Is there a mod to the Abit bios that will let me pick something between 100 and 112? ..or perhaps there is a slocket that gives something between. I'm confident I could get over 900 if I could just get the right FSB. Don't want to replace mobo.
Thanks

u say can't do 112 fsb very long? but it works for awhile? then try getting better hs/fan combo. and 100 at turbo mode is 103fsb.

Runs in windows for 5-10 minutes before crashing. Can't run Unreal or QIII. I'm already max'd out on the cooling. Don't think I can do much better. Running at 1.9V and don't want to go higher. Wish there was a way to force mobo to something like 106 or 109 MHz...

I dont know anything about that board, but do you have cooling on the chipset itself?

Adding a fan to the CS HS let me crank out a few more mhz on the fsb on an old SuperMicro BX board. Even redirecting some airflow over the HS on the CS would help some...but the BX runs hot to start with, i dont know about your particular CS.

Use softfsb. Choose the Asus P3B-F mobo as the target and click on get fsb. It'll allow you to switch to 103/105 Mhz. Too bad nothing between those though. You can get it at www.tweakfiles.com.

hey- if the clock generator doesn't support the speed, then it won't work.

Choosing a motherboard other than the one you own in softFSB will make it try to access a different clock gen than you likely have and will not work or may have undesired results. If it does anything, it will probably just lock up.

yes u make sure the heatsink to attached properly on the cpu...and better cooling might help really...rub the heat compound off and reseat the heatsink...this help for mine c2 566 @ 953mhz...
at the beginning, i can't run the beast at 953 mhz stable at 1.9v(thought is almost max for the cpu), i have to run it to 1.95v for stable...yet later, i get a Orb-like HSF, Sean Fu - Orb, a bit different from the golden orb with spiral shape from inner to outside for larger surface, i modify it and put another fan to make it dual fan, then i lapped the bottom of the heatsink, put some thermal paste, then stick to the beast...know what i get??? i get it stable at 953mhz at 1.90v, really stable one, no crash so far, with temperature at 46c(full load seti for 6 hour) so i conclude the heat is the major problem and the the chip have max out at 1.90v...i can't try the voltage between 1.7 to 1.85 coz i have a fix voltage mobo(which i soldered a extra circuit board for me to modify the VID pins ). But i think the beast will run at 1.80v may be... ...

u might check again did ur heatsink really work well...and for ORB is not a good solution if u want to go above 1.8v, i experience the real orb with my cpu and it won't allow even for me to boot the window if i exchange the SeanFu Orb with the thermaltake orb...

actually try lowering your voltage but keep stability
1.8 or 1.85
since 1.9 is really generating a lot of heat
