Need to add another domain to my exchange 2003 server

Ok. Landed a new job as IT manager. We have one email server running exchange 2003. We have one domain, lets call it mynewjob.com. We just aquired a new company, lets call it newcomp.com. They want to be on our exchange server. I already added newcomp.com in our recipient SMTP policy and we can send and receive email internally to and from newcomp.com.

We own both domains and I need to have newcomp.com be able to send and receive emails from the internet to the exchange sever and have newcomp.com user send and receive from the newcomp.com. even though its the same company we want to keep the email send and receives seperate. any help/hand holding would be greately appreciated.

If you've done the recipient policy then you should have to update your mx records for the new domain.

Yeah, but the scenario was wrong in that one. This is the correct one.

I need to know where do I put the MX records

I found them from the isp:

Mx2c38.carrierzone.com internet address = 66.175.xxx.xxx
Mx1c38.carrierzone.com internet address = 66.175.xxx.xxx

But I just dont know where in MMC do I put them. Its been a long time since I messed with this.

You modify the MX records in your DNS management console. Who hosts / manages DNS for the newcomp.com domain? You would change your MX record there to point to the public IP of your exchange server (same IP where your current MX points to for mynewjob.com)

Are those the mx records for newjob.com or newcomp.com? I thought the newcomp.com was using gmail? Are you sure you have the correct mx records?

Those are the mx records for newcomp. I got them from doing an nslookup on the new domain name. Gmail is out of the equation.

So how are they checking their email in gmail now?

Do you know if they are the authoritative name server? You should find out where the domain is registered, check the DNS records to find out where they are being managed, update the mx records.
