Yo,
I'm a semi-technical business analyst interested in becoming a developer, did some Java in college 4-5 years ago and currently know SQL/HTML/CSS. My school degree is in business info sys.
We're doing this mapguide project in ASP.NET. It's a tool used to display maps in the browser and allow users to interact with them. It comes with an out-of-the box ajaxviewer that you call in an HTML frame. It then has a set of client-side API's written in javascript to allow user to interact with the map objects that are retrieved.
Are there any excellent free ASP.NET tutorials on the web? I know before the maps are loaded i'll need some drop-downlists that hit an Oracle DB so the user can select which map to display. Logically i understand how to do this, but learning the syntax in ASP.NET will be a hurdle for me.
