Need to change hard drive partition sizes

This is on the Acer PC deal I got from Circuit City last year for my kid. I figured a 160GB hard drive would be enough, but it is nearing full and here is why.

The C: partition has 78GB+/- with WindowsXP Home and is in NTFS format; the D: partition has 78GB+/- with the recovery information and is in FAT32. D: is 99% empty.

Is it possible to increase the size of his C: partition without reformatting or reloading everything?

If so what are the steps?

Do a Google search for GParted. It worked fine for me & it's free.

yeah you can. i've done this with partition magic. although what you'll need to do is this: delete D and everything on it, and then increase the size of C. you can do this easily with partition magic although it isn't free. try vanvock's suggestion.

My copy of PM will let you resize without deleting partitions.

I was wondering the same thing as the OP. My C partition is only 20GB and I am running out of space.

Will look into GParted.
