I've used Outlook and had an ATT.NET email account for a long time because it comes with my ATT internet service. It uses the IMAP/POP account types. This week I lost my ability to log on to the account, which ATT tech support said was due to some change they made to their security protocols. The tech had me remove and recreate the email account on their server, which resulted in the loss of my Outlook calendar, which MS now tells me there's no way to recover because the email acct was an IMAP account, and it wasn't backup up, which they also tell me is only a manual process. They also told me that if I had a MAPI email account everything would be accessible and backed up in one file so that would work going forward. So what service provides email with the MAPI protocol? Hunting for an email provider is not something I've ever done because I've just used what was available by default and configured the acct in Outlook, so any help, advice, would be appreciated.
