My stupid old Mac currently has no uncompressor software on it. It is connected via a LAN to my PC, which is running PC MACLAN. My goal was to download software (ie. Netscape) through the PC to the Mac, and then run it. I've found that I need an Expander software, but in order to use the expander software that I downloaded, you have to have an expander to expand the expander (that's why I'm glad WinZip for PC comes in a SELF-EXTRACTING archive).
Anyways, my Mac has no web browser and is basically only able to share files with my PC. How can I uncompress Netscape or any other software? Thanks.
Also - When I expand anything from the PC to the mac hard drive, and then check the properties of it on my Windows machine, it says that it is saved as Creator: dosa Type: TEXT. I tried changing the type to APPL, but all I get is error 39. Maybe the creator is wrong? What can I do?
