Continual connection headaches have made me decide it's time to replace my existing wireless router setup (a Linksys WRT150N router and WMP300N adapter - a 2-3 year old "draft N" setup).
My kid's computer is on the same floor of my house as the router and less than 50 feet away, but I rarely see better than 40-50% connection strength, and frequently, my connection is not available at all. Sometimes I see networks from neighbor's houses show up much stronger (60-70% or more), and those would have to be much further away.
I don't need anything super high performance - (it's mostly for some game downloads on Steam, some internet browsing, some file sharing with my office desktop). But I want to connection to just work all the time, I'm tired of all the twiddling and trying to reconnect every 10 minutes to get it to work.
I'm quite happy with the wired portion of the router - it works great with no problems, but I suspect its wireless signal isn't so great. I'm not sure if I get a new router how necesary it is to also upgrade the adapter in my kid's computer.
So, I'm looking for advice on getting a new wireless router with solid wired performance and a robust wireless connection. (Also on a good/matching wireless adapter if necessary).
