This involves my direct next door neighbor, and his two asshole 16 year old friends.. (Neighbor is 20)

My dog Rox was taken out of the back gate and not seen again. It was less than 3 minutes that the dog was out of sight, and she has been trained without a leash, so she NEVER "sprints" away down the street. ( Especially when it was 117 in las vegas that day) ONly three people out that afternoon were the 3 from next door. I have no proof other than the neighbor involved, told his cousin that the two younger boys did infact take it and gave it to a friend.

She was nice enough to come and tell me..

Cant beat their ass, they are 16.. I am 22

When confronted, all they do is lie to your face and say get proof, etc..When we know with 100% certainty it was them.

Police said if we did not see them steal it, there is nothing that can be done.

What are my options?

Rox

kick their ass, then when they call the police tell them to provide proof.

edit: ok not really but follow them PI style and find out where their friends live. that should be easy enough, just takes some time.

Are you not white? If so you can raise hell up with the police and say their not investigating it because of your race.

Ask the cousin where the friends live. Then go find your dog and call the cops. Maybe even have the cousin talk to the cops.

Yes, this sounds like a good plan, and fun too. Go covert for a week, lol.

But if the cousin was nice enough to tell you that the losers did in fact steal your dog, couldn't she just as well go to the cops and say "I know who took this guy's dog." That seems like your lead right there. You could even give her some money ($10? $20?) as a reward because she could have been a b**** and kept her mouth shut.

Uhm, isn't the girl proof enough? She can corroborate the story and knows who did it. Call the police again and tell them. Be sure to press charges on the bastards. If you can't, ask the girl where the person with the dog lives. Steal it back when no ones looking. If anyone asks, say someone found him and returned him.

Then after all is said and done, give the neighbors hell. Like smear dog shit on his car door handle, I dunno, you'll think of something.

EDIT: Yet another reason to get your pets one of those electronic tracking things embedded in their neck.

Find out where they live, and what their home phone number is.

Or, just steal an incoming letter from their mailbox. Write a rambling anti-cop manifesto and bomb threat on the back of the pre-addressed letter, and mail it to the police from the kids own mailbox.

Then, just wait (preferably with videocamera ready) for SWAT to bust their door down. The police will do an inventory of the house, and if your dog is there you'll get him back. If he's not there, at least you got to see the two punk kids pee their pants.

Can't give you legal advice, but in the future don't let your dog out of sight. My dog's trained as well but he never goes out without my supervision.

I know where the two young kids live, but the dog was already handed off to someone else,(thats the person I need ) i would love nothing more to put them in there place, but I will surely get some type of police drama if we fought...

THats the problem..

And as far as the cops go, I am not sure if the girl saying "i know they took it is enough" - Even though that is exactly what happened.

I feel that if the cops cant do anything, and I cant beat there ass without trouble of my own, there isnt much to be done to get her back?!

Bullshit!

If you want yer dog back, you are going to have to get the police involved again, and this time tell them about the cousin.

Kids can't keep their mouths shut. Someone will eventually rat.

Other than that, find a 16 yo, who is equally as pissed off, then kick his ass by proxy.

The cousin already ratted. Go to the kid next door and offer him some money. There is absolutely no honor among thieves. He will give up the info, and you can get the cops after the whole lot of them, including the guy you "bribed".
It's a classic manuver, one my dad used once to get a whole crew prosecuted for burglarizing his home. Idiots!

Contact the police or a PI. Get your dog back.

If and when you do get your dog, get it chipped.

Yeah, get the police back again.

If you can't get anything to come of it.. start stealing pieces of their house at night. Pull off some siding... dig a hole in the front lawn and take some dirt and fill their mailbox with it.. Remove a side mirror from their car.. Remove a step from the front porch...
