edit - I would plead with the girl to help you. She has to have some concious. If not, I would hire a PI or just keep going to their house and harassing them.

i consider myself in the top 5 percentile of calm and mellow people.. but if some1 stole my dog and i was told who it was i would go beserk.

self drilling screws in everything they own, phonecalls all minutes of the night, copper nails in all their trees, groundclear dumped in all their plants and bushes, windows busted..and that would be on the first night.

Maybe get an older guy to pretend to be a lawyer or something. It probably would take quite a bit of money to hire a real one, but maybe a fake one will be good enough. Have you seen the dog though? If the dog ever went outside with the punk kids I would just take it. They may call the police, but I imagine that no punishment would be worse than not getting your dog back as long as you don't assault anyone.

The dog isnt at their house, I have been there and they are not foolish enoguh to leave it t here. I need to find out which "friend" they gave it to.

As far as a fake lawyer, it would have to be someone relatively savy in the law field or it will blow up in my face and I am really out of luck.

Have you gone to the police station and spoken to someone in person? Damn, if it was my dog I would risk going to jail to get him/her back. Jesus, you have the girl sms you and you can't get anything out of her. All you got to do is tell her that you want to know where the dog is and you'll take it and no one will get in trouble. Tell her if she doesn't that she's going to get in trouble with the police.

Since the girl will not help you RAT her out to her family maybe even threaten her with it first. Then they know you know and they know the girl told you. Then you start pushing the girl in front of the guy in public with witnesses. Hope you get them yelling at each other and they say something.

Only other option I can see is follow the other friends and find out where they live. The dog is probably at one of those houses. Either that or they killed it to be punks. I knew some kids growing up that did that to cats in the neighborhood. Needless to say they were screwed up in the head, and major @sshats.

edit- if the girl sent you messages that she knows about it. Confront her and the neighbor with the info. Tell them if they do not get your dog back you are going to the cops and pressing charges.

No, you have to do something now, in this case the dog must be top priority - I agree with whoever said they are going to use it for fighting. Right now it might be being starved and beaten and poked with a stick to get it pissed off enough to kill whatever they put in front of it.

I would be concerned that the dog is being used as a bait dog for dog fighting and wouldn't even sleep til I get him/her back. I would be threatening the girl that if she doesn't tell you where the dog is that you'll have her arrested. Let her know that you aren't going to stop til you get your dog back.
