Thinking some Phoenix ATOT'ers should talk to this guy... perhaps there are those that might take action on his behalf.

They do, but the kids do not go to school.. Normally on the run or kicked out of their house.. etc..

The mom has ZERO control over them anyhow, so I dont see why they wouldnt tell her who they gave it either.

You would be very surprised what threatening litigation will get you. Start throwing out words like mental duress and that you will be seeking excessive damages. In control of her kids or not, the idea of losing ones home generally lights a fire under them to get things done.

Agreed; when they face the threat of losing their house/car/etc. over a dog things could change quickly.

Private Investigator as well.

I have no idea what you were trying to say.

This thread would have needed what?

What is an eclectic conclusion?

I believe 'needed' = 'ended'. He should take the phone messages to the police and they might try to get that girl to talk.

Agreed, you now have evidence that the girl knows what is going on. Get the PD on it, if they still refuse I would say its time for some kids knees and elbows to meet Mr. Louisville Slugger.

Tell the police that they gave it to a friend. Get the name of the friend from your informant.

I am definitely determined to get the dog back, but there are a lot of things at play here that make it not so not easy to just run and get the dog...

Its easy to say run over and beat their ass.. Yes I know where both of them live - But they are 16 and I am 22.. I don't need them get mopped up and then having an assualt charge.

I have been to both the neighbors home and the 16yr olds houses and the dog isnt there.

Vandilism is out so far..

The text messages from the neighbor are good and might be enough to be able to get the police involved AND actually get something done.

Whats the best way to get text messages off a blackberry on a mac?

Sent an email to a P.I. in Las Vegas, didnt see a response yet, but will keep everyone posted.

Staple flyers with CASH REWARD written really big across the neighborhood and more.

Put up a notice on craigslist.

Put up flyers in grocery stores, etc.

Contact local news station, newspaper, press of all sorts.

Clearly trying to get info out of the neighbors is a fruitless effort. Best to look elsewhere for damming information. You MIGHT get lucky and the neighbors might be stupid enough to start talking when they see "Cash Reward" hoping you'll actually pay them.

Of course, unless the person who gives you info isn't involved, you tell them to fuck off and threaten to kill them if they come near you, your dog, or any of your property ever again.

My dog Rox was taken out of the back gate and not seen again. It was less than 3 minutes that the dog was out of sight, and she has been trained without a leash, so she NEVER "sprints" away down the street. ( Especially when it was 117 in las vegas that day) ONly three people out that afternoon were the 3 from next door. I have no proof other than the neighbor involved, told his cousin that the two younger boys did infact take it and gave it to a friend.

She was nice enough to come and tell me..

Cant beat their ass, they are 16.. I am 22

When confronted, all they do is lie to your face and say get proof, etc..When we know with 100% certainty it was them.

Police said if we did not see them steal it, there is nothing that can be done.

What are my options?

Rox

Call the police and have your friend tell them what she told you.

Gave it to who? Go to their house. Sit outside. Spot the dog. Call cops on cell phone. Cops come, you get dog. Sue for emotinal distress. Lesson taught

DIT: And I'm ought up... never mind

Put up a cash reward of $10,000, and when they return the dog then you beat the shit out of them. That's what I would do.

Not a good idea seeing as the OP would be responsible for that.

You should check with the local humane societies and animal control again.

They are pulling the family card on her, saying its bullshit if she sides with us.. Let alone they are obviiously upset she even told me to begin with.
.She was over at the neighbors house friday night and she stopped over , I really pushed her with it about helping get the dog, whether it be telling someone, or just getting the addy of the place Rox was given to.. And she really doesnt want any involvment at all..

She wont talk to the police because of the reaction from her family... I really didnt push the threat of some type of subpoena or anything..

So, you're not going to do anything to get your stolen dog back? You have the opportunity to threaten the girl to get her to tell you something and you passed on it. Don't get another pet ever.

If it was my dog, I would harassing the girl and police every day. Then corner one of those punks and wrap my hands around his throat and squeeze til he told me where the dog was.

Have you even put up missing/reward signs up?

Sad thing is you know who stole your dog.

First, file a civil complaint. Name the girl as a witness, the others as defendants. Ah screw it, put a PI tail on them. That'll be scary enough for a 16 year old, they'll give you your dog back.

In the meantime, work on getting the neighbor on your side. 20 year old hanging out with 16 year olds? Hmmm.. find out about some underage drinking or drug use, leverage it. Basically, make them feel unsafe (not physically) and have to watch everything that they do.

Personally, I would've flown off the handle by now and probably beaten one of them into telling me where my pet was. But it's never happened to me, and I probably talk a bigger game than I'd ever be willing to do (I doubt I could ever hurt anyone), and second, I'd never tell anyone to do anything illegal.

But remember, you dont need the police to cooperate to file a civil suit. It could start costing them (and their parents) a lot of money to defend. Have you thought about talking to these kids' parents? Maybe let them know what's going on at the 20 year old's house.
