Yes, I admit it is a great price. I was going to bu this or EZCD until I saw the price.
The best price on pricewatch is $20 and that's for OEM you have to also buy harware.
It says "CD-Rom only" at the top. Does that mean this is an OEM version, or that the package is only offered in CD format (as opposed to diskettes or DVD)?
A note of caution- many people got burned (no pun intended) the last couple of times a Nero deal got posted because the version being sold only worked with certain CD-RW drives. In both cases, we didn't find out until someone actually bought it and realized it didn't work.
If it weren't for guys like me who pay for Nero, there would be no Nero.
I pay for it for two reasons:
1. I support good software. And Nero is TONS better than Sleazy-CD
2. By paying for the product, you support further development.
If you choose to cheat them out of a few $$$, then that is your decision. I don't agree with it, but I doubt that there is anything I could say that would convince you to buy the product.
i must admitt i got a warez copy first but....i only "tryed" it. so after about a week or two of using it (when the next version came out) i bought a copy cause its good software and in order for it to stay that way we need to support it (you kno by giving them $20), that is if you want it to STAY better the e-cd.

Definitely. $20 is a great deal for Nero. I'd buy it if I didn't already have the copy that came with my CD-RW.
I don't mean to crap the thread, but for $20.00, you might as well get yourself a CDRW drive that comes w/da software. You can return the drive after you install the software...but I don't recommend it....
or you just keep the drive and sell your old cdrw.
It's an excellent deal - far, far better product than Easy-Cd creator, and it doesn't hurt once in a while to pay a reasonable price for excellent software.
Be careful. Nero has sleazy OEM CDs that are specific to a particular burner and they do not label the packages as such. You find out after you open it and try to run it.
I would be careful about this since it says " CD only ". In Sept. Abilitycomputers.com was selling the cd only version of Nero 5 for $5.99 and lots of people could not get it to run because it was made for a specific CD burner, then they couldn't get refunds..
If you buy this can you get a free update to 5.5.1 for xp compatability? Has anyone bought it and tried it with a HP 9100 series burner. Is this better than clone CD? If you could only get one (Nero or Clone) which one would you get and why?

CloneCD is great for backing up copy protected discs but I don't think you can burn things like music CD's with it. Nero is great for things like backing up files and creating music CDs.
