I wouldn't say it kills the deal. 1.99 plus 6.80 shipping is still<9.00 for Nero. You can't expect these sellers to charge you a buck or two shipping. Computersurplus has it for 3.99 with free shipping but you need to buy a piece of hardware. The cheapest I saw was
Software Outlet for 1.99 with 4.95 USPS shipping or 6.49 UPS Ground. The OP's price is definitely inline with most other companies with Nero 6.

Plus this is Nero 6.6 so it has dual-layer support. The other two are just Nero 6.0. Does anyone know for sure if you can upgrade an OEM Nero 6.0 to Nero 6.6?

Yes. I've been able to download the 6.6 updates and apply them to my 6.0 OEM

Now why wouldn't it have DVD writing capability? It says so right on the description. If it has Nero Express, it burns DVDs. Otherwise it's just CD burning software.

Sorry, Navid, you need to read those links you cite. The DVD Plug-in is for Nero Showtime (who uses that???). Nero Express supports DVD writing, no matter what OEM Suite you get.

I have this exact version of Nero (6.0), I use it to burn DVD's with no problem. I bought it off surplus computers with this as my piece of hardware. Both items are free shipping, so $6 shipped.

I bought Nero 6 and have had troublr getting it to work with XP. The computer hangs on reboot after installation. I have to go to an earlier restore point to get it to boot up. I reading several forums, lots of folks have had problems with nero 6 and XP (although some don't). Just a fair warning.

Same here. I have a copy of Nero 7 Ultra and it gives my system errors when I'm trying to burn a CD or DVD. It worked at first, but now it won't.

Guess I'll try a re-install.

I have Nero 6 Ultra.......don't remember the number after the "6".
It may have been 6.0.0.?something.
It worked fine in 98SE I think I installed it in W2K Pro long ago as well.
When I try to install it in XP, I get a message that this version does NOT work in XP.

I have an OEM version that came with a drive I bought.
It is Nero EXPRESS ONLY.
I prefer the full/old style Nero to the Express version.
This OEM Express version doesn't allow me to switch to the more familiar Nero GUI.
