nero crashes when buring cd

Hello
whenever i try to burn a cd using nero 6, my6 system crashes soon after completion of burning of the cd. i checked the event viewer
and it says

Hanging application error, version 6.0.0.0, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hand address 0x0000000

the other day i was trying to burn a dvd, using a second drive. and nero did not seem to close completelt. i checked the event viewer and the event says

faulting application nero.exe, version 6.0.0.0, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x22632a0

or
error code 0000000a, parameter1 f7de8000, parameter2 00000002
paremater3 00000000, parameter4 8052b66c


can you guys tell me why is burning a cd using nero doing this?

a) I regret having bought Nero 6.6. It came bundles with lots of stuff I don't need, and the free apps listed here on AT do what Nero does. Waste of $.

b) I don't know how to read those error codes to decipher your specific problem. I spent a few minutes seeking the error codes in the Nero "Help" on my own installation, and also on Nero's web site w/o success. You could log into your account at Ahead Software (assuming you've registered your Nero with them) & ask them by e-mail to explain the error codes .

c) Also, it may solve your problem to go to Nero's website, under 'Downloads" and download the major Nero updates of Nero 6 (only available if your copy is registered with them). If you presently have a missing or corrupt driver or something like that, installing those updates it should repair it. Note: The Nero website says there are 6 update files, but they actually only list 5, not 6. I think that's their mistake.

Make sure you have all the latest updates from Nero. What kind of burner do you have? Check and see if there is a firmware update for your burner, that may do the trick.

You are using an old version of Nero 6. I would definitely recommend getting the upgrades.

Sometimes, while writing a file, I might have an explorer window open and the file I am burning hyphenated. That causes a crash. I am not sure that is your problem, but you might want to check it out.
