Nero or Clone CD?`

Hi all......

Just about to get my new PC running in the next 2 days...

I have a new CDRW for it, comes bundled with Nero.

If anyone has used both Clone CD and Nero5, can you please give me an opinion on both and which you prefer and why?

You have the chance to shape what I install through Windows 2000.....

On my current (old) PC I use Clone for imaging a CD to HD before I burn it, and Direct CD for drag and drop transfers.....

Please give a little more info

I'm with aircooled, Nero>General Purpose Burning Utility for most everything. CloneCD>One trick Pony for copying CD's.

Yep.

Install both of them. CloneCD is the best for copying CD's and Nero for burning files and iso/bin images. I even like the latest version of EZCD creator but I'll get flamed for admitting it ;-) but it works just fine for general file burning also.

They are 2 different programs and the only thing they have in common is they use the burner.

Clone CD for making copies of other CDs...Thats it!

Nero for making mp3 cds or file cds...

Thats what I use them for and one wont do the other, so ya need them both for complete burning tools.

Im with the crowd on this one. I use CloneCD for copying discs, and Nero for burning files and audio CDs. My advice to anyone is to do the same.

I also use both... CloneCD for making copies of CDs, and Nero for everything else...

yes, install them both, nero for compilations - data, music or whatever and clonecd for copying. also might want to look into fireburner for burning bin/cue setups. fyi - this is just me but i have never had luck with direct cd or even ez cd creator after vers 3.5c.

Guess my mind is made up, the RDRAM came today, HD should be here tomorrow and everything is ready!

You lot now have made up my mind to use Nero on the new PC! Thx a 1,000,000

You all know that it's the worst thing in the world when a drive like my new Plextor 40/12/40a, comes with a utility I have never had cause to use before, thanks for taking the time to post, I hope someone somewhere also found the information -posted for me, useful to them too!

Your Plextor should have come with an OEM version Easy CD creator. It will also work fine for general file/MP3 and iso burning. But if you already own NERO then use it.

I would agree. They BOTH compliment each other very well.
