simple question really, why are there two versions of mscorsvw.exe running in task manager? I can simple shut them down but I would rather know if this is supposed to happen or what I can do to fix it.

Maybe for different versions (including instruction sets) but they will only run as necessary -i.e. actively optimizing. So I recommend leaving them to do there thing and stop themselves.

That's what i was reading but they don't seem to want to end, specifically, they're running nonstop until i shut them down. I guess we'll see, but I would think 8 or more hours would be enough. Also, is it normal to have them running?

That does seem a long time but maybe they need 8 hours and 2 minutes and you just haven't been patient enough.

As services they are automatic by default but do not remain running.

are they running as in consuming CPU ? because most services stay active in memory and only work when needed.

This should not be of any concern, not even for the memory usage either, because if it is unused that memory will be swapped out to disk anyways when something needs more memory.
