My uncle has a crappy old Dell 2400. Recently, he restarted his computer and then he was unable to connect to the internet. The ethernet icon on the taskbar is stuck on 'acquiring network connection'. No matter how long he leaves it, it does not change from this status. If you unplug the Ethernet cable from his computer, it does indicate that it's been unplugged, so at least it notices that.
Anyway, so I think this problem has something to do with the NetBios over TcpIP driver. When I go to device manager there is a yellow exclamation point and if i go to properties it says "This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed (Code 24)."
I've reinstalled the drivers off the Dell drivers cd, but this did not solve the problem.
What can I do to solve this problem?
