NetDisk 120GB USB/LAN external hard drive at OM $39 6/19-6/25

Looking at their upcomming ad, the NetDisk 120GB Network Attached Storage device for $39 looks pretty hot. I've seen some enclosures go for about this price, this one adds NAS and a 120GB disk.

Has anyone used one of these and do they work with Linux boxes?

Quick info:

-Some have reported the disk inside to be a Samsung SP1203N
-This probably will not work as NAS with Linux unless you find a good hack
-This is not true NAS, but NDAS requiring drivers on the client side
-For the price - rip the drive out and sell the enclosure, it's not a bad deal.

only problem with this is it is not true NAS, it's NDAS. THis means client computer has to have software unning to access drive. Could be a problem with certain applications.
Still decent deal though.

120GBS for $39.00 is really hot, espcially that you dont need no drivers or crap ware when connected to USB on WinXP:thumbsup:

Correct. There is no regular flyer just an instore clearence event. Says SAVE $100, Regularly 139, Now $39. Instant no BS nothing... Like i said my store had a few, and i will probably pick them up considering i work tommorrow ^_~.

Still JUST for the drive its worth it i think. Getting the enclosure is a bonus. Perhaps someone has hacked them or something? even if the network portion isnt great, just being USB2 ext is nice.
