As another poster pointed out its not true NAS thats why on the box it says NDAS technology. This thing requires seperate drivers in order to work. The newest models all have a new sticker on them (right on the front at the top, i saw it around 3:30-4 earlier on some ill buy) saying MULTI-NETWORK WRITE DRIVERS AVAILABLE please visit ximeta.com for details and download. Still the worst outcome is 120gb drive @ $39 which is $.325/gb. WORST outcome, heck use it on USB through one comp sharing the drive over the network itself, and you've got a heck of a deal.

Yes you can. It's got both USB2.0 and Ethernet port.

Since this was clearance before this sale. Actually it?s been maybe a month. I doubt there?s any chance of getting ANY subs. I didn't notice in this ad I didn't bring home from work today, however MOST clearance sales say ?Hurry, while supplies last!? so they don?t have to have subs or anything. They have an excuse that way so it isn?t bait and switch scheming if they don?t have it in stock. Although since it?s an in-store special only does that count?

My friend wanted to play with these and said he?d pick up two if they would come down a little to like $79. As soon as I found this out earlier today looking at my disaster for tomorrow (I work in electronics lol), I left him a voice mail. Hopefully he will get it before they are gone. We had like 9 starting last week and now they will be gone within the first hr probably lol.

Finally I am able to get a hot deal, because many other hot deals come from bigger computer stores which are nonexistent in my area ONLY OfficeMax. Although this may end on a seemingly selfish note, I do wish all of you hunting this the best of luck d^-^

Called all the OM in the area and they are all out of stock, asked if they would be getting more in before the 25th and they all said no (or they doubt it.)

Can't see how OM would be able to get away with this considering from the day the sale starts until its conclusion they will not have a single drive in stock (at least in my area.)

I agree sometimes these sales seem so stupid when they don't have a particular item in stock. Please if you will take out your frustrations to the store's corporate office and not the store employees. The stores even management can do VERY little to actually try to get items ordered in because they are out for a sale. From what i've been told, ads are produced like 2 months in advance. I have seen ads three weeks ahead of time delivered to the store; so assuming one week of printing, this makes some sense.

The store seems to have gone to greater lengths to improve the meaning of the sales, with a pretty good raincheck system, as well as subs.

I would never take it out on an employee, management maybe

I will still go in tomorrow just in case they are subbing or offering rainchecks, but if not then I will contact corporate, I've always been treated well by OM hopefully that continues

When i go in, i'll try to make it early check for a sub listing if any, and possibly post if relevant. It's worth a shot, but i don't recall seeing one. There has been more times that random stuff has occured for the better so GL

I doubt I will find one tomorrow but I will go to OM tomorrow at 10 when they open. I don't think it matter much if this is a NDAS I think the driver will work fine.

I had to visit two different Office Maxes and called all the ones in the area.

I asked "so how many did you have to begin with?" to one of the stores and they said "about TEN".. :disgust: WTF, TEN..

BTW some pics of the enclosure and drive. Unfortunately, the drive mechanism isn't the one of the top brands. Enclosure is marginal. Plastic chasis with aluminum plates attached with double sided tapes. So it looks and feels aluminum, but aluminum is just the skin.
