Sez you! Depends on your locale I guess, but I routinely stream Hulu (NOT 480p) through EV-DO Rev. A while riding the Acela along the Northeast Corridor! While stationary I get up to 2mbps, but even at 121mph I can 400k-1.2mbps anywhere from NYC to DC EXCEPT immediately around Philly.

I'm not worried about the speed, I'm more worried about going over 5 gigs.

5 gigs? jeez... i use broadband at home for that massive download.... EV-DO is for the wireless laptop at work to bypass the work firewall.

Yes. Via the Netflix player.

Or with a laptop with tv out. Or if your desktop is close to your tv.

But the Roku Netflix player is a good deal for $99.

They just released a kit for anyone to add there streaming to the box. So might be getting Youtube, Hulu, Joost and other streaming services added to the box as well, maybe some internet radio too.

Check the Roku forums at: http://forums.roku.com/viewfor...cc10918e055c35c6b45774

Netflix also released a kit to help people make apps and such for netflix.

Check out the Netflix forum: http://community.netflix.com/forum

It's about 3 megs for the highest quality and you can have 3 devices at the same time streaming Netflix Instant.

Also keep in mind that Netflix Instant Queue only works on the main profile and no user created profiles and that someone having there own profile and adding dvds to there queue will not be notified of movies that are available on the Instant Watch as well which can be problematic and annoying checking every dvd on a created profile with the main profile to see if any titles are available to watch instantly. There is also no parental controls on Netflix Instant.

Over all the video and audio sound great. Plans for High Def and 5.1 are coming.

Some movies are in fool screen and using wifi with the box seems to cause an audio pop issue sometimes. Sounds like a vinyl but only for some scenes and will be fixed in a firmware update. Also wifi users that own the Netflix player if during certain times of the day or evening the dots go from 4 to 2 and such. Try disabling UPNP on your router, it stabilized my connection and always get 4 dots now, also don't disable the SSID broadcast. If you use QOS and need to force the Netflix player for 4 dots then while looking at your queue on your Netflix player remote press Home button 5 times then Rewind 3 and Fast forward 2 (Not the left and right arrow). This will bring up the debug menu. You need at least a 6 meg connection for highest quality. Since ISPs usually offer something like 1 meg then 6 then 10 and so forth. Unless your provider has a 4 or 5 meg option.

But for the amount of content you get.......It's an awesome deal and will get better over time.

Adding Starz is a great start and Netflix "hired former DIVX Business Development VP to lead the development of new partnerships." more here: http://www.hackingnetflix.com/...9/netflix-hires-b.html

So expect the Instant Library to really start growing.

Actually your DVD queue does show movies that are available to play instantly now. Think it just showed up this week. Only problem is they also automatically add every movie from your DVD queue that is available to be viewed instantly to your instant queue. I'd prefer to keep things separate.

Maybe on the main profile. (which would be nice to have the option to turn off the automatic move and remove of future dvds that become available in instant queue since if you wanted to bring the dvd to someones house would be annoying. Netflix needs to make options more flexible. Do they remove the dvd? Or just add it to the Instant queue and leave the dvd in your dvd queue? I know on the main profile they show in your dvd queue movies that become available as Watch Instantly but didn't know about the auto add to the Instant.)

But these options do not apply on a profile made for another household member. I just tried it and added The Pursuit Of Happyness in the dvd queue of a user created profile and it did not add it to the Instant Queue of the main profile. In fact when in the user created profile that title did not say it was available to watch instantly(Which only the main profile can view Instant movies but should have an option to add them to the Instant queue, should also be an option to let other user created profiles watch Instant titles.) They need an option to fix this like a "let other profile users add movies to Instant Queue" & "let other profile users dvds that become available in the Instant Queue be automatically added and dvds removed" as well as this option be available for the main profile. Netflix needs more options. Coming sometime in the future will be the option to delete extra user created profiles......Doesn't help that they planned to dump the creating extra profiles option but got allot of bad feedback.

Another nice feature would be more organizing options for your dvd and Instant queue. Especially on the Netflix player, it needs better options of finding your Instant movies. I have allot in the Instant Queue and scrolling left and right in the menu or skip 5 if you press fast forward or rewind can get a little annoying, since it would be easy to make it more user friendly like search by genre or a quick A to Z list or something, also adding an option to find and add Instant movies on the Netflix player box would be cool or maybe even a "automatically add Instant movies i'll like" option.

Let's hope people can do some nice things with the Roku and Netflix kits released.

Don't get me wrong. Netflix is great just needs allot more options to make life easier.

There finally adding support for people who own a mac to play Instant movies. Maybe that means Firefox support will be added? I think they plan to use Microsoft Silverlight for there streaming.

Thought this was funny: Bill Myers, President of Starz Entertainment, where he said that he doesn't expect this agreement to have a negative affect on their cable and satalite business because, "Over the next several years we clearly don't expect to see people leaving their big televisions and big screens to watch Starz Play. This is a complimentary service."

Someone posted it in the comments about Starz Play on Hackingnetflix.com: http://www.hackingnetflix.com/...ments/page/2/#comments

Guess he didn't know about the Roku box or that people can hook there computers to there tvs. No one has to leave there big screens....
