Can't approach JJ as a traditional "Superhero" show in the same sense as Avengers or X-Men. It's just not the direction they wanted to go. She's not a traditional superhero
This is much more of a Noir style direction that appeals to a much different audience. It's a slower burn and emphasizes an emotional threat over a physical one. That certainly is something more interesting to women. Doesn't help that a majority of the main characters outside of the bartender are women either
I dig it though. I found Avengers 2 a bore and just sort of burned out on the traditional Marvel formula. This is a nice change of pace and a bit more of a cerebral experience.

Avengers 2 was pretty bad. Much like the first one, I left the theater and was a bit numb and remembered nothing by the time I hit the parking lot.
