I always try to just watch, but what is bothering me
is why is ms Jones not using earplugs ?
Shhh, you have to give them some power.
Seriously though, most of his power relies on people not expecting him. Sometimes the characters do wear earbuds to block him out.

As a present to myself and because the dvd rental service is going to stop this month, i got myself a netflix subscription. I have just started with Jessica Jones. I find it enjoyable. And all seasons of stargate atlantis are on netflix too. The serie seems fun. There is a lot of humping though.

Hah, yea these Netflix type shows have way more nudity than there ever used to be.

I think they are following the trend HBO set with Game of Thrones and True Blood.

no nudity in Jessica Jones... IIRC its one of Marvel's stipulations, but they apparently decided to make some of the sex scenes as graphic as possible in-spite of no nudity, which kind of paints how absurd the prudish mentality as it is ridiculous to think that the sight of a naked body can be more "damaging/offensive/whatever" than watching people fuck each others' brains out

Wife and I watched the first episode, liked it pretty well. Honestly one thing that sold us... was 4K. It looks stunning in 4k, partially why we both liked it. And now I am curious about whoever this guy is that makes people do things.

Same goes for A Very Murry Christmas, looked absolutely amazing. Ok movie, but graphic quality made it more enjoyable.

I was really disappointed in the show. I know I shouldn't be based upon the books. I have to wonder if the people making she show wanted to do a comic show. They spent way too much time focusing on characters that really didn't matter I'm really speaking mostly about the sister. I couldn't understand why on episode 11 we were spending so much screen time on her when the Killgrave threat was supposed to be climaxing. I thought it was like they were conflicting with the story they were trying to tell. Marvel wanted the JJ vs Killgrave story and they wanted to do a prime time soap.

David Tennent stole the show for me. I liked him a lot but in this I remember watching the first few episodes waiting for him to show up, and then realizing how bad other actors where when played against him. It was a pity, I really wanted to like it more than I did.

Well, i know Kilgrave, the purple man from my old Daredevil comics. I watched yesterday a few more episodes and i like the twist they have given to the story. I like stories a lot where they kind of explain how it all happened. Even though it may be far fetched.

Just started watching this this week. I'm on episode 7 and really loving it. I just realized that the actress who plays the doctor, Wendy, is the same person that was Calamity Jane on Deadwood!! She is awesome.

This was ok and I'll give season 2 a shot, as long as the adversary isn't a psychotic religious fanatic.

They setup the next season for Nuke, the drug induced cop and IGH, but I'm guessing it'll be more than that. Probably the start of crossovers with DD and the other Defenders.

I have no problem with the no nudity stipulation. The show is more inclined to show off Luke Cage's body than JJ or any of the female costars. Perhaps this is due to having a female producer.

Season 2 of JJ is a long way off. I think I heard contractually they can't do it until they do The Defenders, and that comes after Luke Cage and Iron Fist and probably Daredevil Season 2.

http://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2015/11/jessica-jones-season-2

Someone might kill Nuke by then...
It's not so much that they can't do JJ S2 before Defenders as they have to do Defenders by a certain date.

They just announced the show runner for Iron Fist, so I'm guessing 9ish months away from release on that. Luke Cage is already in production. That's why I think JJ S2 will be kind of a pre-release to Defenders.

She already has strong ties to Luke, a connection to DD, and possibly one to Iron Fist through IGH, that or Iron Fist is introduced in DD S2 through Madame Gao. It'd make sense that she's the common thread to all of them. So first half of the season is her vs. Nuke, second half is weaving in the others. Then, Defenders.

Very very mild episode 2 spoiler here
Aw man that mother and the guy without kidneys! That was one crazy moment, I paused the show there. D:

Holy shit, the main character is such a whiny, annoying, narcissistic, bitch. How anyone could sit through more than 3 episodes of this is beyond me. It doesn't help that the world itself is so dull and lifeless. How is this the same city (Hell's Kitchen, NYC) as the one in Daredevil? The Alias comic is good, this is crap. What a waste of resources.

As I said above, this perception of yours is because this particular series is a classic noir, and it's most definitely not for everyone. Daredevil is a drama/action superhero series. Jessica Jones, simply isn't.

This reaction like yours do not surprise me at all. In fact after I watched the whole thing, I wouldn't be surprised if most people hated it, and was a little surprised that the response to JJ is mostly positive. Especially for people who have watched Daredevil and expecting something similar to that, they're definitely going to be disappointed.

Just finished the series, thought it was very good. Come on to the thread, which I have been avoiding to avoid spoilers, to discuss only to find that the majority here are panning what is perhaps the most critically-acclaimed series of the year. I'm surprised, but I shouldn't be. ATOT, you never disappoint.

what, where? I highly doubt that.

Anyway, I finally finished it. I thought it was great, perfectly paced, well-written about 6 or 7 episodes in, but like those that managed to watch it within 2 days and primarily bitched that it was slow and draggy, I came around to understanding that criticism.

The last 3rd of the season just slows the shit down for no real reason other than to make 13 episodes out of what honestly should have been 9 or 10 episodes, and no more.

It took me about 2 weeks to finally get around to watching the final 2 episodes, and that was a struggle. GF gave up on it well before I did, which is surprising. And in that same hiatus, we managed to start and complete 5 seasons of Justified. So, understandably, it was quite difficult to back to only 2 episodes of a show which, in comparison, has no compelling characters.

Still, I liked it better than Daredevil.
