Buy the Netgear router here for $99.95. Apply the $10 off $99 Visa coupon (link can be found in FW forums -- not sure if I can post it here.) It looks like you can also apply this rebate for another $20 off to bring your total to $80.

Customer reviews from this link seem to indicate it's better built than the Linksys that I was looking at before...

Wouldn't that be $90 shipped and $70 AR? Not bad at all...

edit: whoops, forgot the free shipping doesn't apply on PMOTD.

They actually charge shipping on this item ($10.70 for me) so the coupon effectively takes care of shipping...

Subtotal with the Visa coupong is $89.95, Shipping is $10.70 ....Total $100.65. Any body have a better deal? Also, I see that the rebate listed above is an Amazon.com rebate. Will that work with buy.com? Thanks.

The rebate says Amazon.com, (next line) Buy.com and Dell. Plus it's hosted by buy.com so I'm guessing it should be valid at buy.com.

2.4 GHz frequency for 802.11B, and 2.4 GHz phones do they interfere in any way?

looks like a good deal but some reviews i've read say the range is quite poor, which i know is a factor in many 802.11b products but one guy in particular said he was getting ok connection at 60ft but not great. that seems pretty poor to me. also the antenna is fixed so it cannot be replaced (at least not easily) by an external antenna with better range/power.

so i'm looking for someone on AT who has/used this MR314 to give us his opinion/review before buying. anyone??

also, anyone considered trying to price match at officemax, staples, office depot etc?

hey, something looks a little funny to me! the link on this thread goes to buy.com where the router is listed for $99.95, which is cool. i was looking though at the netgear site, and they had links to places that carry their products--one of them being buy.com. but when i clicked on the link from netgear, the same thing is listed for $139.95 before rebate. so i'm wondering, are there more products like this that have this dual pricing scheme?? if so, we might be spending a lot more than we need to....

You want reviews?

Do some reading at practicallynetworked.com

You can also view the site's review there. It's kind of a mixed bag of folks that really like it (like me) and those that had trouble getting it to work. Keep in mind that there are two ends to the link and some of those problems could be attributed to the cards they're using as their client.

My two cents: I like the easy setup; I like the decent range; it's worked with all the clients that I've used; I like the MAC filtering option in the newer release of code (keeps the nosy neighbors out). I really like being able to print from one PC to another. OTOH, I do have occasional lockups that require a power cycle; I have not yet got encryption fully turned on, but believe that I can with some more time on it.

This is a great price for a very strong wireless router.

Good luck all!

I just took the deal...looks like a good one! If I change my mind, looks like these things sell on eBay for a little more than what I paid.

Also note: You MUST have a Visa card to be able to use the $10 off coupon. I tried to use a MasterCard and it wouldn't take it....

I love how Buy.com plays this game with their quantity for the PMOTD...when I went to the page, there were 100 left. After I bought, 92 left. Right now, 99 left again. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....Are they BUYING (quantity goes up) or SELLING (quantity goes down) these units here?

Hmm, guess that's why they're called "BUY".com!

Why not print this out, and take it to Staples who has it for $180-30MIR.
$180 - 110% PM = $92 out the door - $30 rebate= $62!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe you can use a $20 off $100 coupon and make the deal hotter

It doesn't matter cause Staples isn't one of the retailers listed on the rebate anyway.

I've never had a good experience with Staples pricematching anyway even if it would work...

Sorry, allow me to explain...take a look at Staples' awesome pricematch policy at: http://www.staples.com/help/default.asp?area=protection

There are 2 main items there:

1) "Available coupons and rebates will be deducted from the Staples price to come up with a net Staples price when calculating the price match. For example, if you buy an item from us for $100, and we offer a $20 rebate, the net price is $80. If the item is available from another company for $80 or more, there will be no price match. Another example would be if you buy an item from us for $159 and you have a $30 coupon the net price is $129. If the item is available from another company for $125, the price match will be for $4.40 (110% of the difference). "

2) "Shipping and handling charges are included. When comparing our price to another company's delivery price, the equivalent shipping and handling charges will be included. If proof of the other company's shipping and handling charges are not supplied, then $5 will be added to the other company's price. (For example, if you buy an item from us for $100, with free delivery, and the item is available from another company for $90, with overnight shipping and handling charges of $7, then the difference is $3. You receive 110% of $3, which is $3.30.) "

Basically, under rule #1 above, what this means is the "net Staples Price" is $180 - $30 MIR - $20 coupon, or $130 total. Under rule #2, the price of the Buy.com item is $99.95 + the overnight shipping charge of $39.15, or $139.10 total. Since the buy.com price is therefore HIGHER than the "net Staples price", as it says above, "there will be no price match."

Yea, it sux that they throw that Overnight shipping charge at you like that--everytime I've tried to PM with them they do that to me. Anyway, doesn't matter now...the deal is dead since buy.com's PMOTD is over.
