Great router. Just got one a couple of days ago at Office Depot; $29 after rebate but didn't have to wait for it to ship! It's up and running as we speak. Easy installation!

Very good router. First one went dead after 3 months of use, it would send and recieve data for a few seconds, then just quit for a minute, then repeat. Called tech support (sounds like they moved tech support to India) and they sent me a new router. This one has worked like a champ for at least 6 months.

i got this when there were like 3 or 4 random rebates on this plus the wireless pc card....works very well with the pc card on my laptop and either a linksys or netgear usb wireless adapter on my pc, though about once a week or so the router will crash, forcing me to restart it.

Anyone have any similar problems? I have the v1 (larger one) so is the v2 (smaller one) better? I'm thinking a firmware upgrade might help...

Hot deal, I had a D-link 614+ POS, limited range would lock up sometimes. I replaced it with the Netgear through the OD deal last week for $14 and it gives me better range, no lock up so far, and looks great...Bump for a good deal.

IS this netgear router a v2 or us tthe normal one...i heard the v2 is better because it offers more for wired networking. The difference is the v2 has wan for 10/100 or something... in the regular one its just lan.

I'm looking to replace a Linksys wired router (model BEFSR41) at my mothers house. I use it with Earthlink Static PPPOE ADSL. I have a linux box in the "DMZ" behind the router. The problem that I see is constant SSH disconnects. I've had this problem for a long time now and no firmware upgrade has helped. I'm pretty sure it's the router that causes the disconnects, as I can ssh from a machine connected internally to the server without disconnects.

My questions are:
1. If you are using the Linksys BEFSR41 and ssh to a machine behind it from outside the local network do you get disconnected?

2. If you are using this Netgear MR814 and use ssh do you experience the problem described above?

3. Anyone know of forums or support groups for Linksys products?

I will order this bad boy if you guys can tell me it works WELL in a 2-story environment (through walls and ceilings). Actual distance through the ceiling from the router will be about 10-20 feet.

Works good through walls and ceilings. Using it now with my ThinkPad T23 with integrated wireless, through about 4 walls and a ceiling. I am in the den watching tv on the couch and the router is in the bonus room upstairs.
