I thought that G opperates at 5.4ghz and should not be an issue with 2.4ghz phones/devices

Does anybody know if this router is dual voltage? I'm stationed overseas and would need both. I know that the D-Link router does not, so I may give this one a shot. Does anybody have one that could let me know? It should say 110-230V or something like that on it.

TIA

bump for a hot deal, for dual voltage wouldn't you just get a different A/C adapter?

IHMO this is a well built Wifi router for the money with some good extra security features..

I ordered one of these on th 19th and it arrived today =) Now i just need to get my cable modem. I have the WAG311 and it's suppose to support the 108Mbps speed...we shall see on that one.

The powersupply supplied with this unit is a standard plug transformer/rectifier type of 120VAC, 60HZ 16W input that provides a 12V 1A output. So you would have to get a new one of those that goes from 220V->12V/1A. I don't know the size of the plug, but it's one of the common ones used on AC->DC converters.

Another thing about the interference. I think Channel 2 is closest to the frequency used by phones so if you use a higher Channel the frequency will be higher and out of the range of the phones. To get the SuperG i think you need to use Channel 6, and it actually uses two channels (i.e. two center frequencies) i believe.

Thanks for that great info... I may get one of these and then spring for a second adapter.

Thanks again.

Does anyone know how is this one compared to U.S. Robotics USR8054 ? Looks like CNet did not include this one in comparison. U.S. Robotics seems to be the winner by far and I am thinking about picking it up; however, I currently have Netgear 802.11b router and it has been working flawlessly for a while so Netgear is not a bad choice either. Would be nice to see a comparison though...

Here is Cnets Review of the router.

My other choice right now would be the dlink found here.

Isn't the USR just a rebadged SMC wireless router? I have had better reliability with Netgear than with SMC, but I have not used the SMC/USR 802.11g router.

1. The US Robotics is the FASTEST G AP/router resides Dlink and Netgear's extremeG/Super G technologies. (~20Mbps thoroughput)

2. The Netgear device gets about 40Mbps

I apologize for being a little lost... so that means Netgear is faster then US Robotics..right..? I mean 40 > 20... So I am not clear about number 1 above then. Could you please clarify if I am missing the point.

Thanks!

my netgear (WR814 or something like that) 802.11B wireless router I bought about 6 months ago just stopped working. Anyone know if it's possible to get Netgear to replace it?

I just picked one up and recieved it fedex last Friday. I did a firmware update because it said there was a new one available and it killed it. I contacted Netgear Tech support and they said there was some trouble with them locking up. I guess there was a bad batch so I am now waiting for my new one to arrive.

I have the v1 it seems, and I was a little ticked off, thinking I should only accept the newest model.
Then I set it up and upgraded the firmware to 3.0.2 and it's been smooth ever since. I use WPA with it, disabled SSID broadcast and let it run.
5 days uptime and counting, this is with 2 wired PCs attached and 1 wireless laptop using a Netgear WG511T (or WGT511 I forgot...) and some heavy use with multi-gigabyte downloads, uploads, multiplayer games. I did disable SPI firewalling because I suspected that it causes delays. That said there's a new firmware 4.0.4 out that supposedly does away with the SPI problems; I haven't tested it yet.
I love this thing. For $55 you won't get better.

I got this router and looking for PCI wireless network card that will support 108Mbps.
Somehow Netgear's PCI wireless cards that supports 108Mbps costs $80+ while Dlink's PCI card that supports 108Mbps is about $40.
Does anybody know if I can use Dlink's wireless network card with WGT624 and still compatable at 108Mbps? or any place/deal that I can get Netgear's card(WG311T) at good price?

i have that 108 netgear router and the wag311 pci card. I have had no problems what so ever with them. I would recommend what at least were beta drivers off of the support section of netgear for the wag 311 so you can broadcast 54 and 108 and recieve 108. The regular drivers only support statis 108 and if you broadcast 54 and 108 you'll get 54. The router has worked great with all my friends linksys and d-link products and mine wag 311 with theirs so i would reccomend getting the pair

also if i remember correctly the wgt624 was tested by CNET and since it uses the dual channel thing it has one of the best ranges around. I am on other side of the house from mine right now and am connected and full strength. Also netgears utility likes to lie about connection speed with the beta drivers and says 54 when at 108 but i tested the speed and it is definitely 108. I had used sandra 2004
