Netgear WNR834b Router problem

Everyone,

This router with dd-wrt firmware on it has over the past 1.5 years given me no issues but recently something strange happened.

One day the wireless connection was not recognized by my laptop and other desktop downstairs. I checked the router and it seems the power switch was flashing which means according to the doc that the firmware was corrupted. I pushed the reset button with paperclip and it booted back up with a steady green power switch. The security setting was reset and disabled. Both computers recognized the generic DD-WRT SSID name.

I then proceeded online to set up the security setting and after that was done and router rebooted, the wireless connection would not show up.

Summary: the wireless connection would show up with security disabled but enabled, I get nothing.

Any thoughts on how to fix this or is my router history.

If you have a different compatable 12 volt power adapter I'd try that first. There were several reports of WNR834B with bad wall warts.

Thanks for the reply. I'll see if i can find one from one of my other I may have lying around.

Its strange that this would happen now when it has not given me any problems.
