I'm running an AMD Athlon 900MHz, but when I run Netscape6 it takes a long time to load; has anyone else had this problem with Netscape6?

I think netscape takes longer becuase it loads its Java stuff at start, instead of on the fly like IE.. Could be wrong though.

Its the bad implementation of Nutscrape, especially 6, it should of never been released.

Takes ages to load but it will mash decent HTML in seconds

Hi there,
It is not because of any stuff other than the browsers core itself .Netscape6 has to load the GECKO rendering engine and activte it so it doesd take a long time to load ,But once loaded it renders the pages very fast.......

My specs are about the same as your Daniel and I am having the same problems as you. I've done the uninstall and reinstall many times and its a no go. If it doesn't lock up..then it takes forever to load!!! I've just uninstalled again and will wait for something better. I am sticking with 4.7 for now.

Guys its easy.

Netscape = JAVA = CRAP + SLOW!

IE = C++ (I think) = GREAT + FAST!

Can't get easier than that!

They have a better implementation of Java and work close with SUN , but that is about it. And they came up with the language that turned into JavaScript, which is not Java.

I've only noticed long loading times for NS (and Mozilla) while running Windoz... er, Windows. Under Linux, NS 4.7 starts in less than 5 seconds and Mozilla in less than 15 seconds.

Blame Windows
