Network Dead after SP2 Install

I take care of a small office network. There are 6 computers networked. One of the computers was replaced last week with a new workstation with Windows XP. The rest of the machines are 98 or ME. Everything had been working perfectly until SP2 was installed on the new computer. Now nobody can see the new computer and the new computer can't see the rest of the network. Everyone else can see each other.

I deactivated the XP firewall and played around with the network settings. Rebooted a zillion times and powered down the network switch. I can't get the thing to work. Does anybody have any ideas how to correct this problem?

Is the new PC part of the same workgroup as the rest of the machines?

Also, is the problem purely browsing related? Can the XP machine ping other machines, get out to the inet, etc?

Yes the new computer is hooked up to the same workgroup as the rest of the computers. Everything was working fine until SP2 was installed. The new computer can browse the internet through the shared switch but can't see the other computers files and printers.

Everything is working amongst the rest of the computers except they can't get to the new computer.

Something obviously changed after installing SP2, but can't figure out what.

control panel, security center, firewall settings, make sure it's On and the checkbox for "Dont' allow exceptions" is not checked. Click on Exceptions and make sure that File and Printer sharing is enabled, and hit edit, followed by change scope to make sure it's allowed for the correct machines.

If that looks ok, make sure (on the Advanced Tab on the Firewall Settings page) that the box is checked for each adapter in the machine.

Let me know if that all looks ok.

Finally figured out what was going on. It turns out Norton Security was updated at the same time and the firewall was turned on during this update. I disabled Norton's firewall and everything is working like before. Thanks for the suggestions.
