Sorry for the vagueness. Just want to monitor our routers and servers by ping basically. I work the helpdesk and yet this isn't provided for us ... <sigh>.

Prtg is nice and free for 100 sensors (basically points you monitor), so might work depending on the size of your environment.

Agreed. I currently run that to monitor many facets of a decently sized SMB. I have used it in scenarios of 10 sensors and all the way up to 10,000 (not free obviously).

I'm not sure how many servers you have, but you can use any non-utilized sensors in the free version to monitor almost anything you can think of. I could monitor the size of the pagefile in a server if I wanted to. You can also get high visibility into networking equipment but you need to ensure SNMP is setup on it all.
