i want to watch my kids when there in there rec room playing where there computer is and a web cam that are networked to my computer in another room. i need to know if i can do this and how im running xp home.

If you dont feel like spending any more money, you can just setup netmeeting to start whenever the computer in the rec room is started. Configure it to automatically send video and accept incoming connections (with password). It is a bit of a network hog, and the vid quality isnt all that great, but it gets the job done.
