Networking between two buildings

I have a network setup between two buildings using ubiquiti Nanobeams. This network is not connected in anyway to the internet. It is only used for security cameras.

See the attached picture for a very rough layout of the network. My problem is, if the link between the two buildings go down, I loose cameras in one building.

Is there a simple way to setup the same link with a router on each end? And still be able to record cameras on each nvr from all cameras?

You can't beat wired. Any way you can do that?

More routers won't help you here.

Ah. Your original post did not denote distance. Is this a new issue, or has this been an issue since you set them up in 2016?

Both are on mast and have a clear line of sight. The problem is when power goes out in one building or the other. Or as was the other day. Flying debris in a storm hit one of the nanobeams.

The signal is great and work fine. It is the unexpected things that I worry about

You then have to use UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) units to power cameras, NVRs, switches, router and Nanobeams for power outage situations. But your internet probably will be down anyway.

Regarding debris, you can't beat mother nature.

Agreed on a UPS for all devices on the route for that connection. Nothing you can do about debris without going wired. From the pics in your other thread underground looks possible, it's probably just more $$$ than you want to spend for cams only.

So, by the replies I have seen. It is not possible to setup 2 routers and link them together with the Nanobeams I have?

Correct?

I think what most people are trying to do is get you a solution. Could you tell us what you believe you're trying to solve by having 2 routers connected to the Nanobeams? You already said that the link isn't connected to the Internet. You also said that issues you ran into included power outages and debris. What are the 2 routers going to solve?

I want to prevent cameras not recording if the link between the two homes go down. Thus the reason I am asking if it would be possible to to link 2 separate networks together and still.be able to record my cameras at both places

It is possible if both places have Internet connection and you connect through the Internet.

Do your NVRs or cameras need internet service to operate? If not, additional router won't solve your problem.
