Networking in Europe question

Okay. I am taking my laptop to Europe running Win2k and want to use the internet there. Is the standards in Europe the same as of here? As in if I plug in the RJ45 to my laptop, wil it be the same as of here?

ethernet is pretty much universal AFAIK, you shouldn't have a problem

Take an adaptor that will enable you to charge your Laptop.

Outlets are 220V, and plug construction is very peculiar, and different from one country to the other.

As for Network Ethernet is the same all over the world.

Many laptop power supplies will accept either 110 or 220 power at 50/60 hz. Look at your power "brick" and see if it's got 220 VAC listed as a valid input. My Thinkpad brick says (110-220 VAC, 50-60 hz). If this is the case, you'll just need an adaptor plug to convert your two-blade plug to whatever power plug is used in that country. You can usually get those at Radio Shack for a couple of bucks.
