Networking Site?

Anyone have suggestions for a website with networking content? Something like toms or anand? I find this area interests me most, but have turned up inconclusive searches.

What type of content are you looking for? If you want to know about networking in general, I'd suggest a book on it or something. Books are easier to read than websites IMHO.

Do you mean a forum? I'd like to know a good networking forum too, this one doesn't get enough traffic, and all the others are either:

a) "My internets don't work! Help me!"

or

b) "I wnt 2 b a HaX0r - need N00 0dayz Xploitz plz!"

forum.cisco.com is decent, but not much traffic.

there are literally TONS of good books out there.

the CCNA book might be a good start.

The reason there isn't a single source for information is because the field is literally HUGE and has probably 15-20 separate disciplines.

May be if you would define in specific content what you are looking for someone can steer you to the right direction.

Unlike regular staff (like Mobo, Video Card, application etc.) that is of Interest to Hobbyist (As an Example, lately one of the most active issue in the General forum is Computer Power Supply, it is hard to know whether to laugh or to cry when you read this staff).

Serious Networking is a Business issue. I.e. while many individual computers in the business arena are just like and or similar to the computers used by mainstream Home/SOHO users. You can be rest assure that there is little similarity between the systems that are maintained Spidey, and the Home/SOHO Networks that I am involved with.

Business by nature count on paying professional to do the work, there is many network magazines and web site that are business oriented; however, their dealing is on a different level than what you would find in regular Computer Hobbyist Sites.

Ok, so maybe I don't even know what I would like to read. I already do the whole cisco and wireless thing at a community college. I find that when I visit Anandtech, I now first go to the networking forums looking for any new topics that, at the minimum, aren't someone whining about a bittorrent setup. A magazine might be a quality read, and I remember attempting to sign up for packet. Like Atheus mentioned, a different forum could be interesting. I'll dig around more and see what I can find.

Well let give you a Run Down.

As related to Networking, there is two kind of public forums.

Forum like this one that has all the Network Traffic under one umbrella, or as DSL Reports.com does. I.e. having 50 sub forums, might be that in one day the DSLReports Forums generate more threads but it is across so many sub forums that makes it impossible to enjoy.

Out of the forums, that I am familiar with this forum generates the Most traffic per day.

Forums by nature are not a place for Articles, Reviews, and Guides, they attract people who have problems and need help.

If you want to read about practical Networking, you must target a topic and then use search engines. It would take some time to learn how to decipher the search outcome but at the end you can build a nice list pages to read.

Take it from some one who is much older, complaining is a waste of ?NeuroBandWidth?.
