We have a new position which requires someone with in-depth experience in Unix systems administration. We have a Solaris infrastructure which we are migrating to Linux. In addition, we are just starting a NAS deployment (on NetApp FAS3020), have begun to use virtualization, and are consolidating much of our computing infrastructure on IBM Blades. This new position will be involved in the planning and deployment of all these technologies. Basically we are looking with someone with Unix Systems Administration Skills, preferably strong Linux with some Solaris, experience with NAS/SAN, Virtualization (VMware, Xen), and IBM blade technology.
The new position will focus on supporting the Computer Science Department and it's relatively new software engineering program. The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills as they will be working with faculty, staff, and students frequently.
East Carolina University is part of the 16 campus University of North Carolina system and is located in Greenville, NC. We offer an excellent benefits package and a great working environment. The salary range is $60-70k/year. A bachelors degree is required with significant directly realted experience, a Masters degree is preferred.
