This is for holiday/temp positions at UPS.

UPS is hiring temporary employees for the holidays, usually from Thanksgivings to New Year. I used to work as a driver helper and unloader when I was in college.

LOL...have you been reading the news? It's pretty bad, especially if you are not willing to relocate. If you have less than 5 years experience, it really sucks.

Yep, and that is what is really getting me. Takes experience to get experience, which is what everyone wants. Just hire someone with less experience...they'll be able to figure it out. Sheesh.

There are some jobs still opening here. A big surprise in the number of Co-op slots under College Opportunities. I know we are hiring flight attendents and baggage handlers right now (not tech, but a job is a job some times) because I have to wade my way through the applicants to get to the elevator in my building. Only a couple IT jobs externally at the moment, and I think they are Minneapolis (Eagan).

Ouch... I volunteered once for a few months. But it got frustrating quick, when every day, the workers would remind me they were getting paid for the same thing I was doing for free.
I had to stop after a few months because car wasn't all too reliable to be driving 20mi every day, and my expenses weren't being covered.
Was some good experience, but I don't think I can put myself through that again.

I know it's pretty bleak, but I'll give it a shot anyway.

I am a current graduate student in the technical communication field and am looking for an internship in the Twin Cities area in the field of Technical Writing and Information Design. I have experience in Adobe InDesign and MS Office 2007 and have been part of a usability testing team at my university. I have 5+ years of translation/interpreting experience with a school district and pretty proficient with computer hardware.

I'm having some trouble finding my place. I currently work as a Desktop Support Administrator, which is basically my company's second level support. I'm responsible for handling escalated issues from our level 1 group, my group owns about 700 servers located in retail locations throughout the country, we also own the servers in our data center (the software, not the hardware).

I have an associates degree from ITT Tech in Computer Network Systems. I've just started working toward the MCITP Server Administrator certification.

I have experience with Cisco equipment, VMware, a little bit of Linux and SQL, but mostly my experience is in relation to Windows systems and Active Directory.

I've been sending my resume out on monster.com quite a bit and gotten a few responses but it's all for first level help desk jobs. I'm beyond that, but employers don't seem to think so. Maybe someone could look over my resume?

Looking for software engineers for a few enterprise start-ups in Mountain View, CA. I'm a designer at www.addepar.com, we are always looking for Java engineers. Also looking for web-oriented programmers for www.zanbatogroup.com. Not much information on there, but we are basically building an exchange for infrastructure projects. PM me if you are interested.

After some persistence I finally grabbed a "temp to permanent" position with L3. Took me 3 or 4 months + a move since my last contract to get the new job. Hopefully it turns permanent quickly, but at least it pads my resume .

I must highly commend the temp agencies in Toronto for being ridiculously helpful.

Entry Level CPU Design Position at AMD in Fort Collins

Hopefully this is an exciting opportunity for AnandTech readers.

I am the FP lead on a next generation Bulldozer based core. I have an opening for an NCG on my team. My team is responsible for taking the RTL and generating placed, routed, timing closed, and electrical/manufacturing robust layouts through a combination of both hand generated schematics and synthesis.

The ideal candidate will have an MS in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with coursework in VLSI and have recently graduated or will be graduating in the next 6 months. A knowledge of Perl or Python is a plus. I am also willing to consider highly qualified BS candidates or PhD candidates (who understand this is an implementation and not a research position).
