Anyone really into functional programming? PM me.

We have the largest ocaml code base in the world and we're desperately understaffed.

Looking for a VB/Macro in Excel 2010 expert. Small pay like $75, to write the script. Pretty much a piece of web based software spits out a CSV file that needs to be re-formatted as well as some minor calculations happen. The contents of the file changes every week, and the script will need to accomodate this. When I say contents, I don't mean the what the columns represent, rather 5 rows of info that need to be added up and consolidated in week one, then in week 2 there are 10 rows instead, week 3 there might be 2, etc. The data is rows of time entries for a given project, sorted by all entries for a given client, broken up by the end user that actually entered time and then by the day the work was done. So an example woudl be 5 rows representing 5 days.

End result should add all those rows into a single value for that user and put it into a column for that user. I have examples of the data spit out by the system (start), and what my acounting dept is currently cutting and pasting right now to make it look how our boss wants it(end product). If you are interested, email me at edward.tsai-at-inlandpremier.com.

I'm looking for any work in the IT field. Have close to 18-years experience. Currently living in upstate NY, willing to relocate almost anywhere.

I'm not a programmer or developer.
Need more background on your specific background and skills to know if you'd fit any of the jobs open at my company.

Always a good idea to get on LinkedIn to get your name out there, as well as check local job postings; a lot of those go missed sometimes because people are too busy looking at Monster.com and the like.

My advice to you job seekers: Post you resume on Dice, Monster, and Indeed. I had 7 people contacting me the first day I put my resume up on those sites.

While good at the low level, you set yourself up for spam too. I get 10 offers a day on average for jobs I am not even qualified for but had keywords picked from my online resume.

Ah yes, that is true. I get a fair amount of spam and e-mails about positions that I am not qualified for. I got e-mails for a financial planner position, a sales rep position and an electrical engineer position. I am a software developer. Those positions are not related to what I do. However, I also got a nice handful of e-mails that are relevanat to what I want to do, both from companies and IT staffing firms.

Overall, I got my positions through directly applying on Dice.com and Indeed.com, so it's probably a better idea to be proactive and apply to them rather than waiting for them to look at your resume.

Yeah... I love those calls. Most of them are from recruiters offering us three month contract jobs that are 500 miles away from where we live, just because a single keyword on our resume matches their job position.

seconded, although it can get EXTREMELY annoying.

i did this one sunday, put it on indeed and monster only, and i literally had 30+ phone calls on monday. my phone would not stop ringing. had quite a bit of different recruiters asking me if i was interested in the same job as well.

that went on for like a week. had to empty my voicemail nearly daily.

it's hard to reply to that much interest while at a current position.

ended up taking it off after like 2 weeks. but it did end up landing me my new position.

For non-IT people in NYC....

Until midnight June 22, there are a number of temporary Social Security claims representative positions available in NYC, including a number in Queens.

There are 3 posts available for applying (see my signature); here's one example

My advice to you job seekers: Post you resume on Dice, Monster, and Indeed. I had 7 people contacting me the first day I put my resume up on those sites.

While you will reach a number of companies, the opposite is also true. As people have already pointed out, you're likely to get spam or useless job announcements due to random key words on your resume.
