Wouldn't that be the point of 2A though? The populace should have access to the same light weaponry of the Gov, so they are on equal terms as the Gov. If the Gov has AR15 and the populace has muskets (as the anti's so desire), there is no equality.

It's a good thing that our evil government allows direct deposit of social security disability checks, otherwise this Patriotic Leader of the Patriotic Three Percenters would have to go home at the beginning of each month to deposit his disability check from the government he hates so much.

He also hates Obamacare and doesn't think the government should be involved in health care.

The stoopid, it burns.

How often does this happen though? There is no reason for them to be more armed but keep supporting giving them more power and the erosion of civil liberties. Militarizing the police is a bad idea.

Yeh, but militarizing the right wing nut cases is a great idea, I suppose. They can start acting like Mussolini's black shirts- militarized vigilantes. Oh, wait... they already are.

Mr Bundy is becoming something of a drama queen these days. Guess he was missing the attention.

http://www.latimes.com/nation/nationnow/la-na-nn-cliven-bundy-sons-sheriff-20140502,0,5218735.story

"Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy’s armed standoff against the federal government over grazing rights was back at high pitch Friday when the cattleman’s family marched into Las Vegas Metropolitan Police headquarters here, demanding that local law enforcement open an investigation into the Bureau of Land Management. This time there were no guns, only a few cowboy hats -- and a horde of media cameras."

Didn't you just disprove your own point?

-The AWB made assault rifles rare
-lifting it proliferated the numbers and lethality of weapons
-so much that std issue military hardware is inadequate for law enforcement.
=> o_0

Would these yahoos been able to chase off LEOs and SWAT teams back in the AWB days?

You do realize that this really revolves around why our founding father's wrote the 2nd amendment..?

And you just keep in mind that one loon without a strong cause was able to assemble nearly 1000 fairly well-trained men in less than a day. Enough to cause the federal agents to almost immediately stand down.

If anything crazy ever were to happen in this country it would be the hillbillies and country folk protecting you modern progressives.

Well he's a lawyer and I'm afeared of lawyers. Never know when they will turn on you and sue. I would never dare besmirching the Don's name. So if he gets pissed off, I would like to remind him that it is you trying to throw him under the bus, not me.

You know, the best thing about dealing with lawyers is that you can always hire a better lawyer.

As a friend pointed out to me: Back in 2000 when he owned an AR15, he could show up to a fight with the AR15 and it was a trump card; he won the fight because the AR15 was not common at that point.

These days, an AR15 is the entry ticket, without it you'd be considered woefully underpowered.

I think the only reason I don't want this to erupt is because it'd mean more people pushing for gun control (and gun control that's incredibly stupid, barely enforceable and accomplishes NOTHING - just like every bit of gun control we've seen pushed since 2012) - otherwise, I don't care if the militia or BLM get massacred.

I find it hilarious that these gun control nutters actually fueled the skyrocketing increase in gun ownership.

If you think this is over then you will most certainly be wrong. The government did the smart thing in this situation but you can bet they are infiltrating, taking names and building cases against a number of the characters in this stupid drama. If the old man passes away before this is settled the government will place a lien on his property and his kids will lose it forever. The yahoos think they have won the war but all they did was delay the inevitable outcome. Hell, the government has all the time it wants on it's hands. Sooner or later the idiots will get bored of this and will start to leave. The ones who brought their women and kids will see them get sick of it. Money issues will arise for some of them and there is a hot summer coming in the desert.

This isn't over yet, not by a long shot...lol!

No. If something crazy ever happens to this country people like me will be using our weapons to keep those same hillbillies at bay. The last fucking thing I want is 'protection' offered by a armed mob of morons.

Great, they can arrest bundy or resolve it in court.

Pretty sure they learned their lesson showing up on a good 'ole boy's property armed to the teeth.

"People like you"? ROFL. You should spend some time reading about the american revolution. You sound exactly like the loyalists from back then.

Damned right I'm a "loyalist". I'm loyal to my country, not to a bunch of armed wannabee traitors who think they can get what they want at the point of a gun and who wouldn't know the Constitution if it bit them in the ass. If you think those idiots taught the government something then you are just as 'bright' as they are. The government has all the time it wants to let this play out and this is far from over.

They are in it to win it while those yahoos don't have a clue what they're in it for except FREEDUMB!

I find these new developments surprising. Who could have predicted that a bunch of extreme conservatives united against a common enemy would succumb to infighting once the common enemy was no longer in the picture? It's not like there are 17 peer-reviewed studies that all say that conservatives when not facing an external threat will begin to seek out internal threats because that is how their brains are wired.

Wasn't the infighting due to the more rational side voting out the crazies who simply wanted to play war and didn't really give a shit for the core issue in dispute? Kind of like OWS, when small factions broke off with the intent of violence and destroying property. That is my understanding, based on the quotes from the ex marine current HS history teacher quoted in the article above.

I think this would have happened regardless of the Feds leaving or not, the crazies eventually grouped together as they tend to do, were recognized as an extreme danger to their side, and kicked out.

Don't think this is a conservative brain defect symptom as you make it out to be.

Exact same drivel that was spewed the last time we had a militarized government using too much force to bully patriots. Didn't work so well, did it?

You just keep on with your freedom hating

I think it's funny that you continue to insist on this increase in gun ownership despite all evidence to the contrary. Crazies like you are why gun nuts have such a bad name.

It is pretty hilarious to watch all the gun nuts in Nevada devolve into delusions of drones and persecution, etc. I'm glad that the government acted responsibly in this case, so long as they eventually return and enforce the law against these thugs.

Some of us are just tired of the thugs and the welfare culture of these people. You can see how wedded they are to it as well. As soon as someone threatens the government welfare gravy train they violently lash out. I guess that's the culture of dependence.

Bundy has no "freedom" to steal from the government, nor do his followers have the "freedom" to point guns at federal employees doing their jobs.

I can only assume, knowing your temperament, that you love welfare queen Bundy even more because he shares your sentiments about what you would call "people darker than burnt umber."

Can we now look forward to you using the same witless GIF that you post in every thread?

Yeh, the Freedumb! to graze your cattle for free on public lands, lands owned by the People. For 20 years. The Freedumb! to claim you don't recognize the US govt, then release a clip of yourself riding horseback waving Old Glory. The Freedumb to form vigilante groups to patrol public roads & to point weapons at LEO's. Not to mention the Freedumb! of living on SSDI the whole time, or the Freedumb! to feed your families on food stamps while you're off playing revolutionary in the middle of fucking nowhere Nevada.

And, uhh, the last time we had something like this happen was over the Freedom! to keep slaves as part of the States Rights! meme, and it didn't end well for the perps.

Bundy's idiot supporters need to go home & take care of their families. The fact that they can pull this stupid shit shows just how "Oppressed!" they really are, which is to say not at all. Truly repressive govt would have dealt with it in an entirely different fashion, like Chechnya, you fucking Maroon.

I can't possibly think if a situation where he would condone such behavior from urban blacks or Hispanics. It is a culture war.

Maybe we could get around it by issuing urban minorities cowboy hats?

It isn't Bundy's property. That's the whole point.

Except for the Maroons, whose whole point is to stand up to Teh Ebil Gubmint! for any stupid cause they can find. The twisted culture of the malcontents has been coming to a head for some while, particularly since the unthinkable has happened, a black man in the Oval Office.

They're just dying to Start the Revolution! believing that the Country will rise up to support their idiocy.

Go home, guys, before you start something you can't finish, get yourselves killed over your oh so fervent ideological claptrap. There's nothing at your backs other than thin air, and there never will be.

LOL it has not been a good couple years for you modern progressives. You lost trayvon vs zman, davis, gun control is moot, now this.

I guess it's sort of understandable how irate you all are over the whole thing.

Either way, patriots won, honestly I don't even care about the details. You don't show up with armed agents over a contract land-use issue or this is what might happen.

And if this is a patriot's response to a contract dispute, thing about the reaction to something more serious?
