Never apologize for being born in the first world, never feel the slightest ounce of guilt about it. Revel in it and take pride.

Indulge, and laugh mightily as you eat delicious, expensive ice cream in a car with heated seats in the winter...

Get the largest flat screen TV you can afford, then return it and get an even bigger one you can't afford.

Buy a bunch of movies and books and then never get around to watching/reading them.

Enjoy yourself, and give no thought to others.

It would be like beating yourself up for being born a human rather than a mouse, and fretting all the time about how bad mice have it... and how things eat them. Or like spending all of your time agonizing over the infinite planets with intelligent life which have probably died off completely, or the fact that right now somewhere out in the universe there must be an infinite number of aliens being brutally tortured, killed, and enslaved.

Just be glad and grateful you are what you are, when you are, where you are. Your caveman ancestors worked their asses off so you could sit on yours. This was the moment they dreamed of creating for their descendants. Honor their efforts by basking in it.

What what? When did TFP write this? Is it something he previously posted before being banned or something he asked you to post now for him?

I will never apologize for being an American.

If anything, it is my sacred duty to protect the motherland from all the Indians and other degenerate foreigners chomping at the bit to tear our America away from us natives.

I've never even considered apologizing for being born here. That's ridiculous. As if I had any control over that...

I'm definitely thankful I was born here vs a lot of other places.

Do you know the provenance of that pic? The artwork's pretty well done, but it looks like it mixes styles from a few eras.

It's artwork from the game Bioshock Infinite.

Thanks! I wanted to play that, but didn't have the spare money to spend on games. It would also require booting to Windows, and that would interfere with my regular activities. I'll probably get it later this year.

As HamburgerBoy pointed out, this was a quote from me (earlier today in fact) - not TheFlyingPig.

I'm unfamiliar with this person, former poster I take it?

He was a kindred spirit to me?

If you extrapolate this idea, it applies to a lot of things.

1.)Don't feel apologetic about the fact that you were born into wealth.

Yet, even in the first world, it is a very politically correct thing to talk about how all wealthy people are bad, spoilt, dumb and obnoxious and are out there to take all your money away because they're greedy whereas poor people are all good and noble.

2.) Don't feel guilty because you were born physically beautiful.

Do I even need to explain this point? Go figure.

-------------------------------------------------

Talking about groups of people is very hard. There are too may variables involved. Hence, arguments tend to become a bit convoluted. People tend to get this "us versus them" mentality.

For instance, objectively speaking, there are good wealthy individuals and bad wealthy individuals, good poor individuals and bad poor individuals.

Even the notions of "good" and "bad" are relative and have a lot of context under them.
