The point is $10 is nothing to a company like wal-mart. Why lose a customer over $10? I left a basket full of stuff for them to take back to the floor. I had my debit card IN HAND ready to pay after they credited me my $10. They lost more money than they saved.

Thank god I got the hell out of retail so I don't have to deal with idiots who think, like the OP, that just because they have an idea in their head, it should be reality.
Maybe your brother screwed up. Maybe you mis-remembered the amount. WTF do you expect a cashier to do for you in this situation? Most cashiers (provided they aren't also supervisors/floor managers) do NOT have the ability to make the decision to just give you 10 bucks. Your pissy attitude there was completely uncalled for and probably ruined that cashiers day. Congratulations on contributing to humanity in a positive way.
Speaking to the other, more senior employees the way you did was also inexcusable. Who the hell do you think you are and why do you feel so superior? Regardless of what you do for a living, you are not a better, higher, more valuable person than even the lowest retail/fast food employee.
Great way to handle a very small hiccup. You pissed on a lotta people's days for absolutely nothing.

Whatever all I can say is that if I was the cashier I would have just credited $10 for good customer service.
You've apparently never worked in retail.Originally posted by: Com80787

Seems like in the end the only opinion that didn't matter was your own.Originally posted by: Com80787
I told him not to talk because I was trying to talk to the senior manager not the 20 year old low level manager who's opinion didn't matter and kept trying to tell me what he thought.Originally posted by: rsd

you're an asshole. there was probably only $20 on the card.
Even if their system said it was $20 they could have at least offered some good customer service and credited me the $10. More than likely one of their employees screwed up.
And his attitude telling me he'll "say anything he wants" was also unacceptable. Especially after I told him not to talk.
Why the fuck would he listen to you about not talking? WHO ARE YOU?
