Yeah, you should just be able to say that the drive is so screwed up, that you can't run the diagnostics. They should then give you an RMA. IF that doesn't work, I will try to "dig up" my diag code that I had last summer.
All I did was said that the drives were making funny noises and i wanted to RMA. He asked me to run the RMA test but I said that I had already removed the harddrives from the system since I didnt feel my system was safe with them wobbling my whole case around. He gave in and gave me RMA #'s for both of the Wd HD's
