The number one thing most LCD's are returned for is pixel issues.

If dead or stuck pixels are a non-issue for you than maybe.

for me the words recertified/refurbished LCD and TigerDirect make me shudder.

I would hardly call Nexgen/Liquid Video a "Famous Brand" .. also, it is available for $30 more new from circuit city, after $70 rebate. As to whether either deal is worth it ..., I do not know.

Edit: FWIW, apparently it had a $100 rebate ($300) this past january.

This is a Liquid Video panel (I didn't realize they were "famous"). Refurbished 3 month warranty. And you have to deal with Tiger Direct.

CC has the same panel new (not refurbished) with a 12 month warranty:

I still recall with laughter the scanner I bought from TG in 2001. It has greasy fingerprints and gobs of human hair on the scanner glass. Nice.

I looked into it but what is the point of getting a LCD if it does not have a DVI input? I will pass till I can get a nice monitor with DVI input.

LOL I got this LCD at CC for $150 after rebates about a year ago, nice screen but no DVI... I've been looking for another $150 17" LCD but it's impossible. I don't understand how I even got that one for that cheap during the time. I have had no problems with it, no dead pixels, ghosting or anything.

It depends more on the output of the graphics card, but dvi definitely makes a difference. It guarantees you will have a sharp picture, and accurate color reproduction. If you have a POS video card with horrible 2d, dvi will bypass that.
