Good bye Prius. Hello BMW.

Sorry for the horrible picture quality.

228i with the M Sport Package, Tech Package, Premium Package and Lighting Package. So fun to drive. :awe:

Congrats! What did that set you back if you don't mind me asking? Also, how useable is the back seat?

Congrats! Sat in an M235i at the local car show and really liked the size (reminded me of the E46 M3 a lot. Anxious to drive one.

Since my 330i burned up, I REALLY want a hard top 'vert 335i manual, but DAMN they're hard to find.

MSRP was $45125. I originally negotiated it down to just over invoice ($42k-ish) in April. Since the car arrived yesterday, I was able to tack on the extra $1000 option credit BMW is having this month.. so about $41000 before taxes/fees. Of course.. this one is almost optioned out. Much cheaper if you don't need/want them.

Back seat is much more roomy than the G35 coupe I had. I'm 5'11 with broad shoulders and fit confortably back there. I imagine the backseat will get used almost never though.. just to store work/gym bag.

There comes a point in one's life when you realize there are more important things than MPG

Also, MT or AT? That's the $1,000,000 question!

AT. Plenty fine for me. C&D got a 4.9 0-60 out of it. It has flappy paddles if I ever need them. Amazingly enough, it comes stock with launch control, sport+ mode and flappy paddles but a ton of dealers are optioning the car with an inferior Steptronic transmission without launch control, sport+ or paddles.

I have a Miata if I wanna row some gears.

Nice! And congrats.

The 2 series was something that I hoped the dealer could loan to me when I took my car in for a minor service, instead they gave me a 428i. That thing floated a bit too much for my taste, and seemed huge. I'd imagine it would be better with the sports package.

If I had an 8-mile commute I'd have a big block or some other nonsense

When putting on at the most 150 miles a week, getting 11 MPG doesn't even seem to register with me anymore. When it was an 80 mile round trip daily, that was a different story.

$42K seems so spendy for 240HP - I'd have gone Coyote but that's just me as the new ones are just a month or so from hitting the dealers.

Either 4.9 second is wrong or BMW is severely underrating the HP numbers.

Here's the scan from Car and Driver. A3 on the left, 228i in the middle and CLA250 on the right.

Here's a dyno of the N20.. 230ish/250ish at the wheels.

So yes, BMW is probably underrating the numbers.

Interestingly enough, the A3 wins the comparison.. but I don't see how. I drove both and the 228i was the clear winner to me.
