New Omega's mix of drivers are up based on the CAT 3.5 drivers. Only been out for about 3 hours but the verdicts have been very positive. For myself with a 9500NP 128 as a 9700 Pro they are the best yet in speed and IQ.

Get em here if you want to try them Omegas 3.5 Mix at Driverheaven

He does amazing things some times with his tweaking and mixing. This time he has hit a home run.

He is now a beta tester for the Cat drivers and maybe Terry from ATI had some input; whatever happened these drivers are extremely smooth and fast.

For peeps running a 9500 NP or a 9700 Pro the hacks to 9800 or a 9700 Pro from the 9500 NP are built in. You just choose what you want before the drivers load. It is all part of the set up. The Overclocker now holds the OC when you reboot.

Been running them for 5 hours now and so far have had no problems of any kind.

Ok, I've never used these drivers before. Do I install these drivers and also install the control panel from ATi? Or do I just install these drivers and that's it?

I have an 8500 64MB card and I'm currently using the 3.5 drivers from ATi, but the 9800 Pro is looking REALLY sweet right now!

Is it the *new* 2460 for WinXP? The 9x version looks newer to me...

Can I use the ATI control panel with this or will it ruin it also? Thanks!

You DON'T want to install ATI's control panel over it. The Omega driver already has everything you need.

BTW I've installed mine and ran all kinda stuff on my 9700pro with it perfectly fine.

I'd like to know as well. I'm finally upgrading from a V5 to an 8500 64MB and am looking for the best drivers.

So, does this mod a 9500np > 9700p/9800p safely by tricking the driver? That would be worth it if it would work and not get checkerboard syndrome...

Could someone please tell me the best 9500np to perform this mod on? Thanks!

I think it needs to be 128mb but im not sure, how many people have done this with a Sapphire card? A lot of reviews at newegg say the softmod dosent work on that card...

The drivers are good for all Radeon cards but the Soft Mods built in are for the 9500 and 9700 series only. Any 9500 can become a 9500 Pro but only the 9500 NP 128 meg can become a 9700 Pro. The only 9500 NP's that will mod to 9700's pros are the Red board ones with the memory in the L pattern. Newegg has some left.

The hacks built in are the same ones that have been out there. You may get checkerboarding and you may not.

Is the softmod reversible if problems arise?

Yes; just uninstall the drivers and reinstall without the hack. Your are asked at the start of the install if you want the hack.

These drivers are great,, They are written for enhanced IQ over more FPS... However some folks realize more FPS also...

Hello all,

I've been running the new Omega Cats since yesterday and I've experienced no difficulties. Omega is awesome! I've been a fan of his work for a long time. It's a shame that Nvidia is giving him trouble. I use his drivers for my good old TI4600 and his tweaks are definitely a plus.

I'm glad to see many people enjoying the new Cats as I am. My 9800 Pro never looked and played so good. LOL!

Take care all
