New 470, Minecraft issue

My son was wanting to upgrade his old 660 ti, so we researched some cards and he dcecided on an rx470. Everything runs ok, except Minecraft. He runs dual monitors and when he started it the screens on both were just flashing crazily. The main was flashing between minecraft and the desktop and the secondary between skype and the desktop. I disabled the secondary monitor and it ran ok in fullscreen. I then tried it in windowed mode with both monitors enabled and it was ok, tried fullscreen again and the flashing started again. So for today he used it it windowed mode. Does anybody have any ideas on what would cause this?

Can you shutdown skype and try again with two monitors ?
This time only a desktop open on secondary screen and minecraft on the main screen.

Well, I could not really find anything on this issue so I fixed it the only way I could think of. I traded him my EVGA 970 SSC for the 470. I have 30 days to see how it works for me.

What monitors, what drivers, what OS?

Win 10 64 bit, tried 16.12.1 and 16.12.2. He has couple of Acer monitors, the K222HQL is the main, and the AL1917W is the secondary. The primary was plugged into hdmi and the secondary dvi. I just ended up trading him my 970 for the 470, works great now.
