The latest I have heard is they are thinking the middle of the month for release. I would expect you will find them the end of the month.

They still have not seid anything about pricing though.
By the way, Abit makes terrible boards. I do not know how many I have seen with damaged capacitors around the cpu. I expect this one to be one more POS that will fail within six months.

well. that's your opinion. I have had some very good Abit boards, and have one still running o/ced for 4 years without a hitch. If you don't like them personally fine, but don't bad mouth Abit boards without something except hearsay to back it up..

Teentech...I have seen pre-sale prices on these MBs from $180-$250. Don;t pre-order one, wait until they are in stock, and then competition will force lower prices.

ive been running two abit bx6rev2's for over two years now. not one problem at all.

pricing about £160 for the RAID version (£140 non raid). Good advice to wait untill competition forces the price down...^

We sell Abit at work. I have stacks of refurbished boards to show that they fail. We have at least a 10% failure rate with their stuff. A typical failure rate should be about 1%. Their older stuff was better. Starting with the BE6II things starting going down hill.

teenTech, don't worry about what Sloth says, the Abit's are indeed great boards, and recent polls show the Abit boards are what most Anandtech members are using in there systems. If someone has a pile of boards with bad caps near the cpu, then they are foolish for taken something back as defective, when the customer damaged the board. Damaging the caps is not an Abit failure, but most likely the result of using non-approved HSF's on the board. Follow the instructions, and the Abit's are as good as any. That's why Anandtech reviews always rate the Abit's as one of the best (if not the best) board you can get. But you already new that, as you said the KG7-Raid is an awesome board..

I can't wait to see what Abit's NV-7 boards gonna be like. It's based on Nvidia's Nforce chipset. Is Abit gonna release a SiS735 board netime?

Look under the &quot;General&quot; section on the left. It says that the price will be from $190-$200 at first, and to check iBuyer or Pricewatch for vendors that will be selling it. Get a look at this sweet looking mobo here:

i have to agree with sloth

we had so many abit boards getting returned that we stoped carrying them.
if you get an abit board that works it is usually a really nice board. the problem is so many of them just dont work right.

The damage I mentioned is not from an over sized HSF. These are not dented or pushed over but ruptured. The slot boards have them along the back side of the slot. The sockets are all around it. You will see where the caps are bulging upward, leaking or popped up.

Review sites give great reviews to the Abit boards. They are easy to work with, able to be tweaked out and great to OC with. But review sites work with the board for about a week. Most of the boards we have to deal with are 8-12 months old. These are systems that have been running fine then over time start getting bad.

Ive run over 6 different abit board types (totalling about 35 boards) and almost half of them have gone dead, some in as short as 6 months. Abit DOES make terrible boards. they are awesome performers when they work, but the problem is is that they dont work all that well. I will never buy another abit board again until they get thier QA back on track
