-CGI Ripley voiced by Weaver, or
-Clone Weaver, but run the risk of hybridization

I posted this info on the forum already. You have an old link. The director is going to be Ridley Scott-the director of the original Alien movie.

Well if it's a prequel and she first learns of them in the first movie then she doesn't need to be in it but of course they'll find a way to fit her in somehow.

Yep. I've never seen Aliens or any of the subsequent movies, but Alien was great and with Scott attached and if they can do up a decent script, it may be worth watching.

well, they asked if it is going to be a "kick-ass film;" which isn't how I would describe Alien, and is primarily why Alien was so damn good. This will obviously suck, due in small part to the lack of Ridley Scott or the real talent behind those great classics, but mostly due to the fact that the studios (Fox being a chief offender) cater to the dumbest of the audience.

Tony Scott: Yes, Carl Rinsch is going to do the prequel to Alien. He?s one of our directors at our company.

well, T Scott claims that Rinsch is "part of the family," so I suppose there is some hope.

I'd love the idea of the story. I don't think we ever learned where the original ship came from or what it was doing there in the first one.

I used to read the comics... I can't for the life of me remember what happened but I'm positive they addressed the original ship in a story line. God I'm going to have to raid my parent's attic this weekend.

it's gonna suck. the director of this movie has only written and directed two movies, both of which are completely off anyone's radar.
