A 200mm fan is no gurantee of low or lower temperatures.....

Personally I would still go with the stacker if I was in the market fir a new case!!
Then again modding your own case is the way to go!!

Me too! but I think the p180b would be more quiet. I can't decide

I got the P180B for $100 shipped. Not sure if I want to return it or use it.

I can't wait for SPCR to get their hands on this one. I'd like a direct comparison to the current noise/cooling champ.

I like the top 200mm exhaustidea but I'm not liking that side panel. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Thanks. If I understand this correctly, "forward" means through the front of the case, so either the front panel detaches, or the grill/bay covers can be removed.

Yuck. Call me spoiled, but, with my P160, I hardly ever need to remove the right (when viewed from front) side panel. Hard drives slide in across, optical drives slide in from the front on rails, 3.5" devices have a removable cage.

I do get on the other side for cable routing, though. Still, two removable side panels is SO 1999.

For a mid-tower case, it looks pretty good if you ask me. I wonder when Antec's going to get around to listing it on their site...

This case is starting to grow on me a bit. I just wish it wasn't so "busy" at the top. What the heck are you supposed to put up there, loose change?

Cooling should be good though. I'll probably wait until it drops in price, because now it's in Stacker territory...

I've seen it as low as $115 + shipping. Newegg is charging way too much.

Yea, I agree. I wish there was no window and it didn't come with LED fans. Other than that, I really like it.

:thumbsdown: to the side window and LEDs. To this day I still cannot see the appeal of having a side window. Ooo look, there's my video card! Yippie.

Now this I like!

It looks OK, but it really has no redeeming qualities to speak of. And for $150? Tha's laughable especially considering Antec's poor quality. It would be OK for ~$50 I guess.

Yea the P160 was a great case in terms of look and in design. These new cases have much better cooling so I have to give them that.
Absolutely love SATA drives + Antec P160 + the unique looking side window.

I agree. I'd end up replacing the Fans anyway but the side window is a no-go for me. I like solid non perforated side panels so I can use my hole saw and put in a intake directly above my VPU.

This case is pure crap. Take a P180 (an existing platform, so it costs less to begin with) and remove all the good stuff (that drives up the cost to produce) and replace with lame stuff (that is very inexpensive to produce). Then charge more for it.

Don't care for it.

The psu should have been mounted to suck air from below, just like the stacker.

And instead of the top mounted fan, they should have a side blowhole to help cool the cpu & video card.

Jose

dropped my idle temp and my load temps by 10c. i idle at 28-31c now and load prime95 dual load is at 37C. 37c is what i used to idle in my old case. same for video card; that also went down by 10c. this is with fans on medium setting inside of a CPU cubby in my desk.

let the flaming begin.

It doesn't have to be "loud", but yes, it's not the case for the underclocking / SPCR crowd. Most people can and do live with more noise than the pure silence questers, and if done right, you can get very good cooling for modest noise etc.

37-31=6

i would say average temp difference would be 10. Depends on when i took the temps, so yea, if you take 31 instead of 28 then yeah it's going to be a lower difference. Additionally sometimes my old case would Idle higher around 40 when it was hot. I guess with the numbers i gave out, the math didn't add up.

But i was still amazed at the temp difference.

there is a place for a side fan if you look at the pictures. the top fan is great, it sucks all of the rising hot air out of the case. without having one in my hands i can't confirm this, but from the pics it looks like you can mount the psu either way which would be nice.
