it is. grab a digital camera from home and take it to the apple store and plug it in. see what happens.
but if i took that same camera and plugged it into my MS pc, it works as well...sooo that proves nothing.
no, it proves something... that I am a Mac FanBoi and don't know what I am talking about, but I will keep on talking about it because I like the sound of my own voice.

PC guy: We have better, more compatible hardware than mac
Mac guy: Oh! But we're on Intel now! Our hardware is just as good!
PC guy: We have more software support, better drivers, it's better for games, etc
Mac guy: Oh! But you can run Windows on your mac now!
basically....macs are just pcs anymore, in a much more expensive, uglier box.
"uglier"?? wtf are you talking about?
That I think their computers are ugly?
Glad you had nothing to refute about the REAL points I made and not the joke.
your other points are dumb. it's two computers in one... not only that, but the craftsmanship is quality. aside from that, their computers look gorgeous. you not only pay more for quality, but you're also paying more for a computer that runs both operating systems.
i shudder to think what your desktop looks like... probably some gaudy-ass XTREME SICK CREATURE ALIEN case or something...

I was wondering the "in there" comment myself. How could a Mac have drivers for periphs that weren't even made when the Mac came out? Like that "new Japanese digital camera" thing.....so I guess you need to update the Mac OS to keep the driver lineup up to date....but doesn't that equate to loading drivers from a disc for a PC? Odd....guess downloading constant driver updates for the selected hardware/periphs that a Mac will operate with is something Mac owners just love.
the updates are almost always security updates. every once in a while, there will be program updates (ipod, ilife, etc.).
i don't know exactly how it does it, but if i plug in any random digital camera in my powerbook, the powerbook knows what camera it is and works with it. same with mp3 players. same with external drives. yadda x3.
all i know is that it's way easier than dealing with the new hardware wizard and seeing "cannot install drivers" or whatever... even when it tries connecting to the internet to get you the drivers. frigging aggrivating.
bottom line = macs are for functional minimalists who like style.
Huh? I agree with the style part (hey, they're cool! ), but I'm not sure what you mean by "functional minimalists". My Mac does everything but gaming. I've found direct replacements or substitutes for 99% of the software I use on a PC. OS X is basically UNIX with a spiffy GUI, so there's plenty of options to turn it into a server, workstation, etc.
functional minimalist = someone who doesn't like to deal with extra steps, extra parts, unnecessary pieces, etc. for example, a money clip vs a wallet.... thinner/smaller/less attachments, yet can do the same stuff = better.

That one ad where the Mac says he's bundled with all this cool software, and the PC looks dumb because he's braging about "Calculator" and "Calendar."
What he should have said was, "If I'm bundled with cool applications, then I'll have an anti-trust lawsuit on my ass and then I'll be forced to give Apple $125 million so they can remain in business as my token competition even though they are clearly more monopolistic then I am.."

That's a link to a spoof of the old MAC commercials. It's pretty funny, and even though it's a few years old, it's still mostly relevant.
If someone wants to download it and host it somewhere else so it's easier to link, be my guest.
