New Asus A7V Bios

Link is Here. It is supposed to allow for multipler adjustments in the bios. I have it installed and it does give the bios option for it, but when i change the multipler it still has it at the factory speed when i restart the comp. So, i don't know. You do have to change to jumper-free mode to get the multipler options in the bios.

Is your processor multiplier-lock free ? ... as in connecting the L1 bridges .....

ok, i got two things to say...

1. i figured out why the link up top isn't working. formulav8, you didn't take the http:// out of the link text box when you pasted the link in, so it reads http://ftp:// and you get an error screen, no biggy.

2. how do you install i bios update? i know, i'm a moron, but i'm really tinkering for the first time... Could anyone tell me how to install it?

yes it definately has it in bios but i have yet to see anybody able to use it. just boots at default speed. i have unlocked duron coming in mail and will let you know when it arrives

It doesnt work for me.. just says press any key to reboot.... im guessing its related to booting off ATA100.

The multiplier option doesn't work on my system and it asks for a system disk after the ATA100 controller detects the devices (real ANNOYING!). I downgraded to 1003.

the 1003 is the best as of yet, but I haven't tried 1005..

are you guys still getting the delay at boot up. I re-installed my system and boots were going fine until I installed my nic then I started having the 25 second wait but somewere in the install I musta upgraded something because I don't have the wait anymore go figure.
1005 has the new Build 33 promise bios but I'll wait t'ill it leaves the beta.

To get rid of the delay make sure you are using Build 25 drivers.... and ONLY 25... not 32 or whatever. Also this new BIOS has Promise RAID BIOS in it.... so we may se RAID in the final

Over at AmdZone they are having the same problem. Able to get the multiplyers in the bios, but the cpu stays at the factory speed when you change the multiplyer.
