New Athlon 2500+ and ECS Motherboard no POST

I just bought an ECS KT-600a with an AMD Athlon XP Barton 2500+ as a package deal, along with an appropriate CPU fan. Everything is plugged in fine, as when I turn the computer on, all devices show evidence of being powered, however, I don't get so much as a POST, no beeping, nothing. I've cleared the CMOS and tried different frequency jumper settings but it doesn't make a difference. It's an enigma to me, but maybe you guys have some good ideas, please?

And one more question for my doubts: Would the wiring of the power LED's and what not do anything to affect the computer's ability to POST?

I had the same problem mainly just with ecs boards.Beleive me you've got to really press down hard to seat the video card.Once you do it'll post,Thats been my experience with these boards.And there very good for what paid.

OK, I'll give it a shot. I also read that turning off the powerstrip to everything, not just powering things down and unplugging them, helps remove surges in the cables, so just tried that too.

Believe me you've really got to push down hard on the video card.The only drawback to ecs is what you're experiening.There great boards for what you have,alot bang for the buck.On the light problem I leave the side of the case off while i'm installing stuff and watch them if there off or on at the wrong time just remember which one and reverse the wires for it.Example hard drive led stays on except when writting to disk which would backwards.Reverse those 2 wires.One is ground and one is hot.You hurt anything just makes lights backwards.I've also noticed that if the wiring starts out black on left then red it'll run the same forthe rest of them.

Well, I took the card out of the slot, and then I noticed a little white lever at the end. Apparently the card only goes in if the lever is pushed down, so that done, I put the card back in, as hard as I could without damaging the board, and tried again, but no go, still no POST...

Your wiring chart might show a + or - next to certain pins, for PLED for instance. THE BLACK WIRE IS NEVER POSITIVE.

When im first testing a pc, i never plug in all the front lights, power button or usb.. i just bridge the two power jumpers with my screwdriver for a moment.

Well, after no progress after doing several things, I'm prepared to say that Fry's Electronics has screwed me over once again. I'm just gonna put my old mobo+proc back in and pray to god that it still works OK. Maybe it's just my horrible luck, but this isn't the first time I've tried to upgrade my PC and failed. I'm gonna read the sign and call it quits for now... thanks all for the suggestions though!

i have concluded that it is an error on your part and that you should seek some advice from someone locally who knows what they are doing.

So you've cleared CMOS...just want to check, the jumper is in the "Normal" position?
