I watched Thor recently and fucking hated it. They bastardized the Norse Mythology completely! and in such a way that had they adhered to it the storyline would have been a million times better but because they veered so far off the entire movie made no sense. Imagine Tyr's hand getting torn off by a monstrous wolf, a giant wielding a massive flaming sword and Leviathan leaping from out of the water. Ragnarok. Instead we got a shitty love story and affirmative action because they felt the need to die some knots together in preparation for their next big movie. Fuck Hollywood.
1 - Thor is a redhead with a massive beard not a Fabio lookalike.
2 - Heimdall, "the whitest of all the Gods" is apparently a black guy.
3 - Ancient Norway's got a ton of fucking Asian people.
4 - Loki, IMO my favorite character in any story/mythology in history, lacks character. He should be a jester who deceives, gets bitches, causes pure evil and all for the sake of evil itself. Instead it's some stupid 'father's approval' bullshit.
Now I get that Marvel twisted the Norse mythology around quite a bit, but they still had the same tales and the same characters.
QQ, I'm upset because I actually know a bit of Norse mythology
